do you know how to enable the shader pre caching in the rockstar games launcher
Just attempted the fix, it increased the playtime from 2 mins to 25 mins but the dreaded FFFFFFF crash still continued to occur.
Tried the settings in Steam/Graphics fix, literally happens every time I open the map, to find my camp, solo lobby, public lobby, not in single player though. This is the most frustrating thing. So glad I bought this on sale for $30+tax and not full price.

Though I have noticed that if I reboot after it crashes I can sometimes play for a while, but usually the map going over my camp is problematic, also it happens very often when I spawn in my camp or enter my camp.

Played to almost level 50 on PS4 when it first came out and had it crash like once a day, but this is ridiculous, I just bought a RTX 3070 to play this and according to the test all my settings should be Ultra and it's just like... why?

Then the handful of times I do get to play for a couple of hours I have modders on spinning UFO horses with burning feet and shooting flamethrower crotches.
Sure cheaters break the game but not sure all crashes comes from them.
Just played 1 hour and the game have closed by himself, without any message

theres no fix, u get this error when a cheater teleports u to a camp that dosent existis (something like that)
if u r gettin it in story mode i dont really know
This game is, at the same time, so wonderfull and so disappointing
If only they would fixed and securised it, i would have been probably the best open world online (for me)
I'm late to this thread because I encountered this problem after leaving the game for a year. I am 100% sure the "Error FFFFFFF" is caused by a Modder cheat menu. I reported a player for using god-mode and 5 min later my problem started so much so that I will crash 5 sec after I enter a lobby. Tried two of my friends account on my PC and both worked perfectly. Only thing I could do in the end was use that "script" to make private lobby and still play with my friends.

If you wonder why R* don't fix it or get rid of Modders the answer is plain and simple GREED!!!!!! they don't care about there player base, they just care about how many "Shark cards" and "RDO gold" they sell and in many ways the Modders help them in there cause exactly the reason they don't even attempt to stop them. Simple scenario I fell for it in GTAV, You are a newby, Modders kill you and you don't know they are in god- mode, you just think you need a better gun/chopper/tank or whatever how do you get it quick SHARK CARDS!!!!. I have played R* games from the first Max Payne but they will never see a cent from me again.

This issue occurs for MANY reasons and is not only related to modders. Someone here said they crash on their map. My husband and I would crash when using deadeye, depending on our cards as reported by other users. I used to crash during the launch of non-legendary bounty missions. It's not just modders. They have other ways they can crash you, and clearly do not care if you know they're modding.

How do you explain 2 accounts not crashing and one does on the same PC using the same software ???? Everything is constant accept the account. The cheat menu works on your R* Social club ID, I read of players uninstalling and starting over from lvl1 and they still had same problem !?!?!

uh equipped cards, corrupted player data, luck? There's quite a bit of things that can cause it. and I hate to tell you this, but if you're switching lobbies modders don't have a way to do anything to you if they aren't in the same lobby, and when they do crash your game it will be a CTD with no-popup. FFFFF has that name because it's an un-named error.

So I have more than 1800 hrs playing this game with two different accounts this has never happened to me till right after I had a skirmish with a Modder and many report the same. I mean after 1800 hrs and trying everything in this game suddenly one card/horse/gun (corrupted player data) or whatever is causing my problem ??? I don't think so. If there is corrupted data so bad that it makes your game crash why doesn't it do it in Private lobby with my friends ?? Reason is I'm not shown as online on my R* Social club profile to the whole player base, that's why. But since you seem to know what's causing it why don't you fix it for everyone. In the meantime I will do the private lobby fix and not hold my breath.

Didn't seem to help. I just lost a ton of money worth of hunting animals. Was on my way to sell it all but nope. FFFFFFFF in the chat for me.
If this was in RDO and you did set all of those settings I listed there then you are likely experiencing a crash related to a modder being an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, in which case there is nothing you can do about it. You can follow this guide to setup a private free roam session that will remove modders from the equation entirely though and you can have anybody you actually want to play with do the same thing and free roam will just put you in a specific instance that only people with the same file as you can join. This will not impede the ability to do content that requires loading into an instanced area like the poker table glitch does. Just a completely safe version of free roam free of all the greifers and cheaters, a wonderful place for just you and your friends, cannot recommend it enough. All my crashing completely stopped once I had the right settings and removed all other players from the equation. Shocker modders are doing what they do best and ruining an otherwise great game. Anyone who says modders don't cause problems are blind, all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that modders do in a lobby further contributes to instability in the session ultimately breaking it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFd2af8wINE

Imagine if dX12 didn't crash your game, which it does.
I'm just saying since switching to DX12 I've not had a single issue, and since playing in solo lobbies in online without modders, I've also not had a single crash, literally just did a 7 hour non-stop session with a friend without a single crash.

Will the progress made during these private servers carry over to the real one should you ever desire to switch back? Like, say my friend and I got to level 30 or something, if we deleted the file would our progress be still level 30 in the real servers?

All progress remains. You're still connecting to RDO, just on a shard that your router is specifically 'targeting' basically, as well as others who use the file.

Yes it will carry over. The game still work as normal and everything still sync to your R* account. Sometimes if you play game in normal lobby, you get bad connection and it will put you in one lobby on your own, it kind of works like that accept no one can join that lobby until they have that script with the password.

I don't think you're understanding what I'm telling you - FFFFF errors are un-named errors. Just bc you're getting 5 in 10 minutes doesn't mean it's the same thing causing the error every time. Most of the time I see evidence of the crash in my system log - it's not always modders there are tons of other causes for it. Rockstar is a company with the ability to fix it and the lack of will to do so. I'm just making it clear for everyone else that might see this; there isn't a one trick fix-all. I was playing solo lobbies as well and while I'd go from getting the error once every 30 minutes to once an hour, which didn't start happening at all until I returned to the game after 1+ year. It still happens and that doesn't mean it's modders, or your system the game is just coded VERY poorly.
