rockstar support couldn't fix problem

i was talking with rockstar support trying to fix my connection issue to rdr online, we went through a whole list of fix's nothing worked, he even had me repeat some fix's multiple times, still nothing worked. so in the end i was told that they had to investigate the issue further and would get back to me via email. i am highly let down, i use to play this game on xbox and never had issues. and it seems here on pc everyone is having issues with the game, im starting to feel like maybe rockstar doesnt know what they are doing.

PC generally uses different ports then XB/PS does. Your Router Firewall might be blocking needed ports. Or you might need to configure Port Forwarding for the ports used by R* SocialClub + RDO

On PC, 3rd party software can be an issue as well, such as an anti-virus suite which has control of your Windows Firewall and things of that sort. Or Windows Defender set too strictly.

idk how to check ports. and my window defender asked when i downloaded if i wanted to allow access, im not a pc guru lol if you can tell me how to do something please do, i would love to play online. but as of now i cant without getting kicked after a few mins.

Does it at least let you play within your own session?

i just bought the game yesterday so im still in the begaining part where you have to do the matchmaking and steal the horses, it boots me during that mission, it wont let me do anything else ive tried to go to town or anywhere else and it wont let me it starts a count down and tells me to go back to mission area.

It could be due to the fact you are only able to do that mission with new players. Which, where they reside could be the whole "connection problem" so to speak.

Keep trying. Hopefully once you're past the intro part of RDO you can do the rest in a much more stable manner.

Check to see if it's blocked (Google your anti-virus and see what's the process of checking to see if something is blocked), and if it's not blocked, then reinstall the game.

not my antivirus i called tech support for my antivirus and a tech remote accessed my pc and checked some stuff we uninstalled the antivirus i loaded the game and played and it still booted me, the tech guy said its nothing on my end everything is fine, its an issue on rockstars end. he did suggest uninstall the game and reinstall it cuz he thinks maybe it didnt download the full version of the online mode. but idk imma try it.

But every time you try to start the tutorial horse mission it kicks you out?

I don’t think it’s a firewall/anti-virus issue. If it were you wouldn’t be able to enter the game.

This horse mission can be played solo, so it shouldn’t matter if it can’t connect you with another player.

Failing that, maybe try deleting the character, close the game, then reopen the game and build a new character.

Just to let you know, the PC version has a bad problem with cheaters. The Xbox version may be more enjoyable online.

yea im reinstalling it now, i will try deleting character too if reinstall doesnt fix the problem, but yea i load in, do the match makeing it doesnt give an option to solo it but it did put me by myself once cuz no one joined and i made it all they way to the barn to turn the horse in and it booted me.

oh and far as the cheaters , i play gta as well and they are bad on there too

You do not have to waste your time uninstalling + redownloading Steam Games.
Just go to the game properties in Steam and click Verify.
Wait til done.
The R* Launcher and SocialClub Services are what really handles the RDO updates beyond what core game files are on your drive. As the RDO updates frequently to where those updates are done by the launcher. Things such as what you see on the "Online" tab of the game's internal main menu system as well as what is basically advertised to you on game launch as well as within the SocialClub Overlay.

If you can connect fine to GTAV-Online then you really shouldn't have much issues with RDO. However like I said, if you are playing RDO fresh then that means having to rely on the other players connections for a "good" match-making for missions or events that call upon the match-making system to join players together for such events. With the open-world of RDO though you can play that all alone if you like.

uninstalling and then reinstalling the game did not work, gonna try deleting character and starting new

created new character, skiped intro all is good......so far. turned macthmaking off i think that was the issue.
