Can't Lasso-knife animals when hunting,
I don't know if this is a bug or something because everytime I Lasso an animal then proceed to approach the animal but there was no prompts to kill with knife, when I pressed F Arthur just frickin kicks the animal wth lol.

So you had mods before, then there could be two most likely possible issues.
Either you still have something in the game folder associated with mods; such as a scripthook for example. Or you saved when using Mods, and now that saved game is dependent on such mods and will no longer work properly without them.

Here is a picture of the game folder so you can see the original core game files...

Is this in single player or online?

In single player you should be able to knife them.
In online you need to level up the "Naturalist Role" to unlock the ability to knife animals.

This is in single player story, as I said Arthur just kicked the animal when getting closer instead knifing them
Is the knife equipped on the wheel? I think I've had this problem before but it was awhile ago and I don't remember if that is even a thing.

try "E" instead of "F"...afaik there´s no need to have the knife equiped
or use the revolver

no this also works well with larger animals like Moose, Elk, Deer, and domestics like bulls, cows and of course sheep and goats! BUT, don't try it on a Grizzly Bear or Gator!

Those are not small animals, those are medium.

Small animals would be Rabbit and ones around that size, which can't be lassoed.

All of these can be lassoed, reeled in, and knife-killed. These are considered Medium / Large.
> Pig, Boar, Sheep, Goat, Cow, Ox, Bull
> Deer, Doe, Buck, Pronghorn, Ram, Elk

> Others might be able to be lassoed, but there is no point as they are too strong and will pull & drag you. Ones such as...

> Bison
> All Legendary animals that allow you to lasso them. No point doing this.
> Predators can't be lassoed for obvious reasons, such as Panther, Cougar, Grizzly Bear; for example.

You need to trial & error with this kill type, you also want to lasso it not too close to your Horse, to avoid collisions between target and horse. If this happens, even if you don't go flying or have a nasty crash, the horse hitting the target animal will damage it down to a 1-star every time. When you snag the lasso onto target, turn the horse left or right so it hopefully runs off in that direction when it forces you off your horse so you can reel in the lasso towards target. The further away it is, the more Stamina is needed to successfully do it without losing grip. If you run out of Stamina when doing this, the target will be automatically let go.

1. You may wish to check the age of the post you're replying to. I only replied because there is no answers I could find anywhere else.
2. Can you help me? I can't fix this problem I've removed every mod that could conceivably be causing it and it's still not helping.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
