I had, the epic version. I bought the steam version. I uninstalled the epic version to install the steam version and since then I have been unable to save. Even when I start a new one. Yet on my steam deck steam version I am capable To save.

If you are using WIN 10 or WIN 11, go to setting > windows security > virus & threat protection > ransomware protection, and add RDR2.exe to allowed list. This solved my problem.

(Your installation drive)\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Red Dead Redemption 2\RDR2.exe

Or you can just search all files in your drive.

Its because you all don't configure your PCs correctly or run things correctly.

Windows Defender > Add Steam and Steam Library folders into the Exclusion listing.
DO NOT put any game clients in your OS Startup.
Launch Steam via Run As Admin
Launch Rockstar Launcher via Run As Admin
Launch RDR2 via the Rockstar Launcher
