Missing legendary elk pelt + antlers

Hello, i've apparantly made the mistake of hunting the legendary elk before having unlocked the fence and trapper ( i guess the Hosea mission didn't appear and still doesn't ) So i've carried it for a while and had to drop it a few times to complete quests and so on, and finally left in the camp and it has dissapeared for some reason.

How to deal with it so that i dont't lose the trinket for the bonus
Also Hosea doesn't seem to appear for his fence mission and i only have Jonh Marston's one even after the resque of Sean.

Only one fence is "locked" all others are available at the beginning of chapter two. The game is set up so that legendary pelts, if lost, are still available at the fence for use, unfortunately you don't get paid for them.

Several trinkets need more than some part of the pelt, such as a specific bracelet and in a few cases, some specific item found somewhere in game is also needed.
