why are you still here

Hello, i was wondering if you still have the problem? I had the same probelm, and i just fixed it. do this (win 11)

1. Right click your speaker in the task bar and open sound settings
2. The output, try to test through the ones you have listed, mine that was checked did NOT make a test sound. (all sounds on pc worked even tho)
3. When you find the one that works with the test sound, switch to that one

THIS worked for me, ive tried everything i found online (also this post)

Hope it works, or you solved it before i made a comment :) (let me know)

Cheers!

Switch to that audio device BEFORE you launch the game.

Look on the taskbar audio speaker open volume mixer check Steam and RDR2 audio is full.
Please ensure the Razer Nari is not muted in your operating system and that the headset is set to be the default playback device in the Audio Control panel or in the Software Audio Options.

Check the Realtek HDaudio manager if you have Realtek on your mobo.
Maybe its using 5 or 7.1 stereo surround, Or something else try 2 channel stereo.

This is a long shot, but as you posted this recently I was wondering if you'd found a solution? I am having the same problem.

I'm using Windows 11 and can't find anything for 5.1 or 7.1 under the sound settings. Where would I be able to see that?

Plug in your Headphones prior to launching Game.
Double check the Properties for your Headphones in Windows Sound Settings and ensure they are set to 2.1 Stereo and not some form of Surround Sound such as 5.1

If you plug your Headphones into Front Case Line-Out, on some audio cards or motherboards the front audio counts as a separate audio output device. Ensure this is set to default before launching game.

So I've gone through two rounds with R* tech support and it's just endless rounds of being switched around from person to person with them going through random points on whatever checklist they're using. I really like this headset but software-wise, it's definitely had some weird issues.

Well when it's on your end with your PC. Folks like Rockstar or Steam support can't help you troubleshoot your PC issues.

talking to R* tech support is like trying to get your dog to understand videogames

How hard is it on PC to plug in your audio and then go make it the default. Then all of the other audio options you do not use, disable them. It's really that simple.

you clearly dont understand the problem SINCE NONE OF THAT WORKS! just dont buy razer nari, problem solved

So I have this issue only sometimes randomly. What works for me is going to my sounds tab, playback, disable my headphones then enable them back. For some reason it seams like it tries to switch my audio source output. This happens on headphones and my computer speakers both.

If the audio device is USB then ensure it's plugged in and set to default before launching a game
