Mission: My Last Boy, save Paytah bug?

In this mission one of the objectives is to save Paytah, the guy being stabbed about half way through. I saved him and saw him talk to me right after that, but at the end that objective wasnt checked off. The other guy on the back of my horse at the end died when I got him back to the Wapiti reserve .

Does this mission affect the outcome of the game at all? Saving him I mean.

I'm curious about this too. The game said I didn't save him via the no checkmark in quest rewards. Does this matter at all? I can reload save if it does...

If this doesn't affect anything like future quests or items then I will just keep going.

Edit: this is the quest in chapter 6 where you go shoot up the oil field and steal some bonds. It has the native americans who fight with you but need saving sometimes.

The guy who died was Eagle Flies, Paytah is another dude. To save him you have to make sure he doesn’t get stabbed the whole mission
