and there are some story mission which you can play with up to 3 of your friends or random players co-operatively, just don't expect the single player quality of content .
However, online does have a separate storyline, and co-op missions you can play with folks.
Just be warned, there’s no text chat in online, and very few players use the voice chat. If you’re hoping for a social experience you likely won’t find it in RDO.
However, if you were planning to play with friends, or aren’t bothered by the lack of communication, it can be fun. :)
There’s also more “grindy” content like replaying “Stranger Missions” to slowly build up “gold” to unlock roles such as being a Bounty Hunter, Trader, Moonshiner, etc.
Each role can also be “leveled up” which unlocks additional perks.
The world and atmosphere are beautiful. You may run into some cheaters as you explore the world, but you can always hop to a new “free roam session” if they’re being a nuisance.
Sadly, like Hitodama said, it appears that Rockstar has largely stopped updating the game. There’s still a lot of content for new players to explore, but it’s looking less-and-less likely that Rockstar will add new content to the game.
I believe the games still on sale, so it’s a good time to try it out and see if it’s to your liking.
I hope this info helps.
