end game
what do you keep at end i keep finding conflicting results as it looks like it changed at some point.

i did all the treasure hunting and exploring with Arthur before i found out about the end.

have 270 hours in and just now to chapter 6 took my time with story not knowing out come. done pretty much every thing that don't need access to blackwater lol.

i just don't want to be sitting on stuff just to lose it when i can have fun with it now while i have it.

you loose the money arthur is holding, unless you follow some particular steps involving a stranger encounter before end game, otherwise pretty much everything else carries

money and bars stuff like that or just money?
lol ya cant do that encounter i did that at the beginning i did so much exploring before i even started the story lol

I have read others saying that gold bars transfer. I have been playing for more than two years with more than 10 play throughs, never has a kept bar transferred. My experience is money, gold bars, herbs, mounts, and provisions do not transfer. If you have not used the bank of Aberdeen, I suggest you find it.

I finished the game yesterday and there was no chapter 6, just the epilogue... I was a bit confused

Do you get chap 6 only if you make certain choices at the end? I chose to stay with John instead of going back for the chest

That is the end of Chapter 6. Chapter 6 starts when you set up camp at Beaver Hollow, not long after returning from Guarma. If you go back for the money, you encounter Micah and Dutch there and don't end up getting it, so it makes no difference other than honor (going with John is the honorable choice).

pretty sure it is everything except money and for a few missions in epilouge u dont have any weapons but u get them back

nah u just need to finish the first epilouge mission till u get of the farm then u get ur guns back

It's easy to miss, but yeah, chapter 6 should have started when you moved camp from the Nite Folk hideout near Lakay to Beaver Hollow. (Mission was called "That's Murfree Country" IIRC.

For whatever reason, my post on r/reddeadredemption got flagged for review, and the moderators deleted it. I'm sure they have their reasons so I'm not going to bother reposting it, but here's a summary of what I found transferred to the epilogue:

Provisions: None, though John starts with 2 plain stringy meat, 1 canned salmon, 1 canned corned beef, 1 baked beans, and 1 apple.

Tonics: None, though John starts with 1 potent miracle tonic, 1 chewing tobacco, and 20 aged pirate rum

Ingredients: None

Materials: Only plumes, the Abalone Shell Fragment, and Cobalt Petrified wood; plus John starts with 10 Heron Plumes (in addition to what transferred from Arthur).

Kit: Pocket watches, keepsakes, fishing lures, and trinkets/talismans; plus John starts with 10 gun oil, 5 crawfish, 5 cricket bait, 5 worm bait, 5 potent herbivore bait, 5 potent predator bait, and 3 cover scent lotion.

Valuables: All unique items except the Ancient Viking Comb, Jimmy Brooks' Pen, and the Female Fertility Statue; plus gator eggs, pocket watches, jewelry bags, and crafting jewelry (i.e., Gold Earrings, Gold Jointed Bracelets, Silver Chain Bracelets, and Silver Earrings). All other common items are lost. (Sell those gold bars first if you're using the trick to transfer Arthur's cash!)

Documents: All except the Bluewater Marsh Coach Tip and the Wilson J. McDaniels Bounty Poster. (See document.)

Money: None, though John starts with $11.16. You can transfer Arthur's money by allowing him to get robbed at Aberdeen Pig Farm prior to his death, and then having John return to the farm in the Epilogue (now abandoned) to collect it.

Weapons: All (just prior to Ep.1 Mission "Motherhood"?)

Clothing: All (in Ep.2, since there is nowhere to change clothes at Pronghorn Ranch?)

You will only lose Arthur's $Cash
His satchel with the stuff in it and journal are transferred to John.
You don't need to use any means to try and transfer loose cash over to John.
Simply keep some gold bars/nuggets on Arthur and then once they transfer to John, then sell them to get loose cash.
