Blue Screen Galore
This is the only game that BSoD's my PC. The only anything, for that matter. I've never had a BSoD on this machine until now.

First time happened while changing some settings in game.
2nd, 3rd and 4th happened just while playing.
5th happened when trying to use Firefox while having the game opened (rdr2map.com).
6th when trying to use Steam Link with the game, it BSoD'd while loading.
7th closed the game, went to get some food after a few minutes, and came back to a blue screen.
8th when closing Firefox with the game open.
9th time and the latest one; I had closed the game a few hours ago; tried to save a PSD file, unrelated to the game, and blue screened.

Lost the file, work related, so this has become a more concerning matter if my PC has been messed with by the game permanently.

I had never blue screened before, and so far I still don't blue screen if I haven't opened the game since I booted the PC. But after I do, even after closing it, anything goes.

It wasn't until after the 6th time that I changed the setting so that the PC didn't restart automatically, so I could see the error number. It was 0x0000007E on number 7.

Specs:
GTX 1060 6GB
24 GB Ram DDR3
i7-4770
Windows 7

Game is installed on an SSD.

Please let me know if there's any more information you need.

I can already tell you just by looking at your RAM, it's configured badly.
24gb is suggesting you don't have matching dimms. You did what you're never supposed to do; you added ram to a mixed up configuration.

Remove the odd-ball ram and run with the highest matching two

I'm not sure what you mean by matching dimms. If that means just matching memories, then I do, 3 of 8GB each, all identical.

then remove one stick.. you're not supposed to run them in odd pairs. always 2 or 4 sticks. never 1,3,5, etc etc. cause as previously stated.. you're running a really odd config of RAM

That I didn't know. Can't use only 2 since my work demands more RAM, but I'll hold on playing RDR2 until I get a 4th one. Thanks!

just play with 16gb of RAM you dont need more then that. Edit: my bad didnt see you also said work ^^ then yeah, i suggest you run up to 32gb of ram on two sticks instead

There are 16GB DDR3 RAMs? I've never found one. Thought that was DDR4 only.

Simple question.
What version of Windows 7 you have?
I have a feeling it will turn out it's Home Premium.

Aye, that might be true. What Motherboard do you use?

Ok, so I'll be buying a 4th RAM, identical to the ones I have, in a few days. However, I do have to repeat, this is the only 'anything' that has blue screened my PC. Game or otherwise.

So if anyone has any other ideas, I'd appreciate that a lot.
you don't need to buy anything!! STOP

Shut the pc off, take out ram. Insert two matching 8Gb dimms for a total of 16Gb.. PLENTY

PS
make sure the two are in the appropriate slots for dual-channel

Your work would benefit from a more efficient configuration that has speed, not amount. if it needs more it just goes to page file (and that's ok despite what you've heard)- which reminds me, you didn't turn off your page file did you? that's a no-no sir. Again despite what popular belief is.

You have to be careful who you listen to. There's so-called "experts" everywhere!! Stupid stuff floatin around youtube and internet!

No, I do need amount. I work on files that almost max out my RAM, the software used to crash when I only had 16GB. And page file is on.

Always refer to your manual. For anything motherboard. They recommend 1, 2, or 4 stick configs. That said, is the 1 lacking stick currently causing your BS's? Not necessarily but maybe. It could be other things. More memory is never a bad idea though.

What other games do you play? Currently RDR2 is a very demanding game. Are you overclocking or overvolting anything? The fact that this doesnt happen in any other game is apples to oranges. DIfferent games with different graphic settings, programming, algorithms, memory requirements, memory access patterns, etc,

No overclocking or overvolting. And did bluescreen a bit more often when playing on the default settings, but still do now, less often though, on reduced settings.

I play at ~55 fps most of the time, peaking at 60 fps, and going as low as 45 fps on very few areas. The BS seem to random though, since no matter the current performance it can happen. Or like last time, that it happened a few hours after I had already closed the game.

Haven't opened the game since that last time, and no BS so far.

However, some settings, when changed at all, make it so that I can't load the game at all, making the screen flicker, and only audio plays. That's another issue, but it's the reason I haven't been able to freely tweak my settings.

I'll be buying the 4th stick today, so I'll test that out. I needed the extra RAM anyway, for work. So this is alright; even if it's not the reason I BS.
Since it mostly happens in this game, and this game is very taxing, I might consider stability issues also. But one thing at a time. See what memory does.
