If I donate pelts at camp, can I still make stuff that needs those things?
like if I donate pelts at camp, it would remember I had stuff needed for dual holster?

When you donate pelt at camp they become available for crafting items at camp, the same thing happens whe you sell pelts to trapper, they are counted as available for crafting. You don't need to have them on your horse, unload them at camp / trapper whenever possible. If you die you'll lose them

Thanks alot! Thats very helpful.
I guess, I couldnt donate my pelt (to Pearson in the camp), because it was not "perfect" quality?
(Because, it seems, every recipe is talking about perfect ones.)

correct, you may only use perfect pelts for crafting. If you are having trouble getting perfect animal pelts, I would recommend looking up either the in game animal compendium while hunting or if you aren't bothered by using out of game resources you can use the read dead wiki

Think of them as inventories. Once you sell it they keep the item in their inventory and you can use it later to craft. You don't need to gather 3 pelts and then go craft something, they keep whatever you sell for later.

Nice metaphor :47_thumb_up:

Still no one has answered you question. Hides from medium animals like deer, pronghorn and wolf you walk to the back of your horse and "store" it on you horse, they stack up so you can store more than 1. Large things like buffalo, elk and alligator you can only store 1 at a time, they are just too big to store more. In online you get a hunting wagon you can store more than 1 of those. Little things like rabbit you skin and the pelt gets put into your pouch.

If you need 3 large skins you could tame a wild horse and have it follow you, store 1 on your horse, 1 on the wild horse and walk carrying a 3rd.

Or use a hunting wagon mod instead

Thats very nice and very thoughtful of you to recognize, that nobody answered this of my questions. :steamhappy:

But last questions, because of this: Can I stack different pelts (hides, furs) on my horse or only of one type? And how many of them?

Not yet, maybe later. Otherwise, it feels like cheating for me. ;)

You can stack around fifty animal pelts on your horse of deer size including boars and cougars etc all together. At the same time you can stack a single deer sized carcass on the back of your horse or a single very large animal skin like an alligator, bear or moose etc.

At the same time as this you can attach two medium/smallish animals like turkeys and rabbits to your horses saddle, one either side.

None of these things need to be removed to be donated or sold providing the horse is with you at camp or near the recipient when visiting a butcher in town.

What a ridiculous decision of the devs. I should go to a hotel/saloon after each hunt? If not, everyone is complaining about my blood on my clothes.

There's a MUCH easier method to get clean clothes again:
Go to your horse, and go to the "horse storage" menu that allows you to change clothes (it's the 'quick' menu that starts with your weapons and then you can switch the wheel to other options). You can change into the same outfit you are already wearing to just clean it. If you're at camp, you can just go to your cot and change clothes, too (it can also be the same outfit just to clean it).
