- is your display monitor connected to your graphics card or the mother board? sometimes it happens by mistake and maybe you are using on-board graphics instead of your dedicated graphics card
- are u using a decent cable capable of 1440p display like a display port 1.4 or hdmi 2 ?
- right click on the desktop and see the current active & known resolution by checking the display option
- make sure in the in-game settings display is set to number one if you're using multi display set-up
- use Alt+Enter
- if none of these worked go to the config file called System.xml under this root :
documents / rockstar games / red dead redemption 2 / settings
open with note pad , find the res and change it's value manually to 2560x1440 , save the file and make it read only
- if it also didn't help delete all the files in the same folder
- update graphics driver
- run the game on windowed borderless maybe
- if you're using a port convertor adapter like a dvi to display , display to hdmi etc .. don't because in my experience most of the time they mess up the resolution and image scale
