Crime Reported... Ridiculous

So, chapter 2, just entered the cabin looking for Colm O'Driscoll... in the middle of the woods... gunfight with bandits is over. I take various items from the cabin and... CRIME REPORTED.

Literally 2 minutes after picking up a money clip on the table, 4 lawmen (whatever) show up.

Is this game full of nonsense like this?

Not sure if it was ever addressed in GTA V but at one point animals counted as civilians so the cops would come even if it looked there like was no one to report you.

Remember the old Hitman games? the mission where you assassinate a Character based on Hugh Heffner, and his young friend, the politicians son? old man had a small dog that would count as a witness, so you HAD to poison or otherwise dispose of the dog to achieve Silent Assassin Status!

I believe it's the same for Red Dead, modders found that most of the animals report the crime, mainly horses.

Uhh, that's why I'm asking questions.

I'm trying to figure out how this game has so much hype, when it has seriously badly set up systems like this. Plus the follow-the-prompt requirements on missions (don't get off your horse 5 feet too soon!) is just dumb.

So early into the game.

uh you don't just lasso them and release them because if you do that the witness won't snitch and it saves time

yes, if it is a TIMED mission it will be! however, you can make that decision, then replay for gold! Do your looting however on the first try, since nothing you loot or otherwise aquire on a replay will be added to your inventory!

long story

I was walking in SD, went to the trapper then to the fence. while walking out I was being a nice citizen and saying hello. the thing about walking is you either walk slow or start running, there is no walking faster or jogging so while I was walking I pressed shift and bolted.

long story long there was this woman on the way that I didn't even touch but she gets scared and loses all mobility and back steps 10 meters but she didn't fall. but here is the BS and I really REALLY hate this thing in this game. for some reason some idiot runs to the cops because he "witness" something. I ran after him and threaten him 3 times but it didn't work so I runaway.

the cops were on my ass shooting to kill for scaring someone and a 5 dollar bounty and oh my god it was the entirety of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SD police force. I managed to get on my horse and ran all the way towards the marshlands on north but still had cops on me specially this one cop on a horse that kept shooting me and I was angry. I lassoed him to feed him to the gators and as soon as I did that, let me tell you there was no other humans on sight besides him, all the sudden there are 8 cops spawned right behind me. they shoot me to ♥♥♥♥ and my horse my beautiful Arabian horse and I couldn't do anything because when ♥♥♥♥ happens you either get stuck on things or the game mechanics doesn't work.

by the time I managed to get my guns out I was already dead so as my horse. and when I loaded I was given a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ morgan. I tried reloading but the auto save ♥♥♥♥♥♥ me up. I EITHER LOSE MY HORSE OR 2 HOURS OF PROGRESS FOR THAT ♥♥♥♥. TWO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ HOURS OF PROGRESS. i weighted my option and the best thing to do was to get my horse back considering I just had level 4 achieved so bye bye that 2 hours.

thats one of the many bs stories I could tell. to take revenge I went back to SD and slaughtered whomever I could see and ended up with over 1500k bounty.

yes they often force such stuff to 'hurry you along'

the authorities usually are easy to evade if you have cover to hide away from them (like a building)

Unfortunately, it always seems that for the simplest mission you have to kill more people than Clint Eastwood did adding up from any 3 of his movies.

Is there any MOD that makes crime more realistic - if you have completely different outfit and mask - it suck you cannot rob trains. You get INSTA recognized, total BS that ruins the fun of crime.

you need mods to make the game enjoyable, download crime and law rebalance from nexus
