Red Dead Redemption 2 and DLSS 3
Is this in the working? Times ago they added DLSS support. Will they update to DLSS3?

Game runs fine and looks better without DLSS
i run it on 4k max settings with DLSS it run always above 65 or so . i might try without i dont think i need extra boost on my 3080 . not sure game looks good . but cyberfunk imo looks little better in terms of how people look in game and hair . but overall one of best looking games i ever played imo .
Remember to use DLSS Swapper from Microsoft Store, it scans your Steam games and lets you get the latest version and swap the DLSS file to what is current.

Many games do not update the DLSS profile, or alternatively, get the file online and swap any other DLSS capable game to the current version.

In terms of RDR2, it looks great on my 3080.

Using an RTX 4090 at 4K full settings, it drops to 80fps.
So no, it doesn't run "fine" for those who own a 4K 144hz monitor.
Also, DLSS has been proven to improve the image quality.
Besides this, your answer has nothing to do with what I have asked. Please stay in topic with the threads you reply to.

An app that is not updated since february 2022 hardly can update anything.
Also, DLSS3 must be implemented, not updated.

Funny that, as the latest DLSS file is actually there, on the library part of the application where all the DLSS files are, and guess what, the latest as said is there - 2.4.12.0 - v2.
Not sure where you are getting the hardly can update anything, must have imagined it updating all the Steam games that use DLSS in my library.

But then you would know it would update, if you actually used the application.

Clearly you did not

Actually I have a 4K 144 Hz monitor and it looks fine with or without DLSS, so maybe there is something wrong with your monitor or something.

He never said it looked bad. He said it looked worse what is true.

Idk about you but 80fps at 4K is more than acceptable for most people.

Also, DLSS causes significant noticeable aliasing on hair, and there's a fairly noticeable "checkerboard-like" pattern that shows up with DLSS when looking at fine details of things.

Well 80 fps isnt bad to me in this type of game. To each their own in that regard, just dont push your preferences on to others. Some people are sensitive to the smallest change, some cant tell the difference at all.

The game seems to run nicely on a 4090 at native. Its up 61% on average for me over a 3090. If they do add DLSS3, I hope they allow frame gen toggle without needing DLSS (like in F1), because I cant display 200+fps so it would be pointless - unless you go 5K+ or something...

I'm not saying 80fps is "bad". I'm saying that DLSS 3 is a new technology that combined with an RTX 4090 can squeeze a lot more performance than what you actually get. People that buy an RTX 4090 don't spend 2.300€ just to say "it runs fine". I would have bought an RTX 3070 if my expecations were that low.

RDR2 looks terrible on DLSS, especially character hairs and beards are so noticeable. If you have a card that support DLSS3, sure as hell it's strong enough to run native 4k at impressive enough framerates.
