Note:
I denied access to the horse for everyone. I ride alone... so far. Incidentally, you should set that to YOU only if you're going to be causing hate and discontent in other's Camps. A guy rode in and tried to shoot my Dog and while he was doing that I took every animal off his horse and gave it to Cripps. He left feeling unfulfilled and lonely...lol
It's rather dependent on your location geographically and the puberty progress of the player base where you live, but in my area Defensive Mode pretty much tags me as 'not interested' and everyone mostly leaves me alone.
An occasional disturbance, but I just Parlay and turn the other cheek. I'm working. I don't have time for nonsense right now. I'm also alone, so I'm quite busy doing Trader and Collector and of course, Daily Challenges.
I Just headshot a few Revenue Agents from across the map that were shooting at another player. Not sure why there were two Agents over there still living, but - they're not any more. Not sure what happened to the Player either. I rode off quietly.... and it didn't take me out of Defensive Mode when I shot 2 Agents.
I often get visitors - unhostile - some even chat and drink a beer from our Wagon.
Just made $625 and about a half a bar for a couple of Dailies.
Good Times.
That gives you 10 minutes of God Mode with that Player.
hit L - Online Options - Go Defensive.
Don't shoot any one.
They can't lock on, or lasso you and when targeted you have a 'Shield Icon'. That won't stop them from killing you, but it may make them reconsider. it works for me - most of the time.
Be non hostile.
Be polite, but quiet.
Just go about your bidness.
Oh, one last thing:
Stay out of Valentine - a hive of scum and villainy.
Noobs love Valentine - it's the only place they know.
I do well in Great Plains.
2 Cougar Spawns, Quail (I have 20 in the satch) and stacks of meat.
Run Long Distance Deliveries from Gaptooth. Not a super long ride and the bad guys make easy targets.
Set the wagon on course at full speed - aim behind you with the Bolt Action - the horse knows the way.
Enjoy.
