How do you pull a knife during a fist fight?
Let’s say I tackle a guy. Can I press tab (kbm on a PC) and access inventory while in a fight, and draw Arther’s knife?

Set/Find the keys to equip:
Shoulder
Back
Sidearm
Offhand Sidearm
Knife/Melee Weapon will be what you last set
Throwable will be what you last set

Then you can instantly equip any of those while on foot.

When on the horse it's probably a good idea to use the wheel. Repeated presses of the Slot Button will cycle through the available weapons on the horse, or put it away completely. You never want to get off the horse unarmed, of course, so use the wheel. When you hit the ground you can instantly get to what you have equipped.

If you're holding the knife when you tackle - the 'Execute' button may stab him in the face... not sure what happens... never tried that one.

If holding the lasso a tackle is as good as an instant hog tie - same as holding the lasso when near someone and pressing 'Fire'. Maybe Melee as well. Can't recall.

If holding a sidearm when near someone, Melee will bash him in the head with it. That usually ends confrontations fairly quickly and doesn't leave a corpse to deal with - they're only sleeping... how cute...lol

If holding the bow (with a regular arrow, of course) when behind someone Melee will stab them in the throat with the arrow - silent, instant and 100% fatal.

No; you need to pick the weapon just before you tackle.

You can set the default weapon what equips on pressing <tab>.
The default weapon is indicated by the two swirly arrows over its icon.

That's only available in RDO, not Story Mode.

Overall I've had no issues equipping a weapon during a fist fight; you have to time it right and be quick with the weapons wheel.

You can hot-key your knife via settings, I have keypad 5 set

There is a stab in the face, and a stab in the heart animation and a slit the throat on this. kinda brutal.

Knife is Number 5 key by default anyways.
But yea use the numbers, you don't need to use weapons wheel all the time. Once you sett what is active for the slots, the numbers select them more quickly.

1 = 2nd Sidearm
2 = Both Sidearms
3 = 1st Sidearm
5= Knife
6 = 2nd Large Weapon
8 = 1st Large Weapon

The stabbing is kind of lame. Better to quick-equip knife, tackle the enemy, execute them. Or quick-equip your Bow and when close to enemy, press F to execute him/her

Rite hand side of keyboard is the keypad.
Not the numerical top keyboard
I use keypad as I have a profile for my 12 button mouse. and keypad is hardly ever used for most games as hotkeys because its on the other side, far far away from your left hand actions!

So most bindings I can do without fraggin up most games internal ♥♥♥♥♥♥ binds.

Yes can be useful to assign to mouse if you have one of those MMO mouse with all those extra buttons. I can't stand those because it messes up how I grip a mouse. But I do have some assigned to mouse buttons. Such as Caps Lock (for eagle eye / dead eye), Horse Melee (so I can kick or attack w/ machete, and Q so I can more easily click to Track animals or tracking arrow. Not hard though to press the normal 5 key that is above R & T keys in such situations though when needed. In RDO I tend to set the default selection to Reinforced Lasso to make it easier to quickly grab that when needing to take down a Buck, Elk, or a Bounty.

Thanks for the tips, everyone

You can if u run away from the fight for a few secs and select your knife. If it's a scripted mission fight you may not be able.

But what a strange question, are you dumb or something ?

Some good fighters will knock down your weapon so its useless sometimes at close range.

I prefer the rope and tackle the sob to play with if i can

This is hilarious. Yes, no matter how often it happens, I continue to surprise myself with how dumb I act on many an occasion. .
