Hacked - Change Sessions.
It only gets worse from there.

Unknown - when I see my horse's feet on fire I change sessions 'cause I KNOW there's a hacker in the game.
When I change sessions I leave him in the Session I left.
I lose my Super Duper Stew<---I can make more stew<--in fact the hacker helped me get 250 more XP for making another batch.

Some cheaters give presents, instead of making it rain fire bottles.

They are still sub-human, but good on them for making it fun for others.

Pick up their 'Gifts' of Money and Gold and you can be banned.
When a hacker is in the Session - it goes downhill from there.
Change Sessions.

Too many Hackers to avoid?
Play Solo Lobby.

Your choices are limited to 2:
1) Change Sessions
2) Solo Lobby

Just change lobbies quick.
ESC > Online > Free Roam | Camp | or one of the Events | or one of the regional spawn points

Be wary of receiving gifts from modders. There are known bans for this.

If you do not want to do Private Sessions in GTAO/RDO; you can simply play normally, if you run into a problem with a player; like them blowing you up over and over again, exit back to main menu. Join Online again. As soon as it loads you into a session, bring up Resource Monitor in Windows OS; right click GTAV.exe or RDR2.exe and click Suspend. Wait about 10 secs. then right click it again and click on Resume. This will cause a disruption with the network connection just long enough to throw you into your own session, without completely getting disconnected from the SocialClub service or the Online portion of the game entirely.

If you know for sure who is the problem player; if possible bring up their SocialClub profile and click the tiny 3 dots for Options; then Block the person. Then as you continue to play the SocialClub system will avoid putting you and any blocked players into a session together.

If everyone is using the same 'password' in startup.meta
I think it's an 'Auto-Join' to the session that's running it.
(don't quote me on that - I don't have any friends - still living...lol)

Yes that is correct. Cause when I first used this method long ago, it happened to me. Cause I copy + pasted off of a tutorial a guy shared. But I forgot to change the word password to something else. So anyone who made that file and left the word password; well then THAT word IS the actual password. So anyone using the same password "should" all end up in the same private session. That's exactly how the file is supposed to work.

So make password, something else.
Make it something that you would not mind sharing with friends of others online whom you speak privately to who you'd like to be in the same private session with.

Again, here is what goes into the STARTUP.META file

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<CDataFileMgr__ContentsOfDataFileXml>
<disabledFiles />
<includedXmlFiles itemType="CDataFileMgr__DataFileArray" />
<includedDataFiles />
<dataFiles itemType="CDataFileMgr__DataFile">

<fileType>RPF_FILE</fileType>
</Item>

<Item>

<fileType>RPF_FILE</fileType>
</Item>
</dataFiles>
<contentChangeSets itemType="CDataFileMgr__ContentChangeSet" />
<patchFiles />
</CDataFileMgr__ContentsOfDataFileXml>

password (Yes THIS is the password for your private session, so please change it)
