Has anyone found a reliable place to hunt for scent glands?
Spent the last 2 hours trying to get scent glands and found maybe 4...

No, google says you could have searched it much faster. As for what I have seen, if you get them to spawn, muskrats are kind of common on some beaches and along some rivers in forested areas.

You can find a hundred maps for every animal you'd need.
ZERO KAY PER CENT did try to lead you to the right direction since a map is way better instead of some random claiming any location.
Gotta be a special kind of stupid to not take his advice tbh.

If you're unable to find skunks with maps from google search, you're either blind or go in guns blazing on every other random animal while your primary target is running away for a very good reason.

Don't go in guns blazing and usually you will find 2-3 skunks at those locations, running around without your horse is not too bad, they only try to get away for a short time, but if you start shooting they'll run off until they despawn.

If you use the collector's interactive map (https://jeanropke.github.io/RDR2CollectorsMap/) there are heat maps for skunk, beaver and muscrat. Skunks are all over the Great Plains during the night.

I don't know how to post an image on Steam, so primitive way it is: https://imgur.com/iaPDbvN
The red circle is just an indication to look around at the East side not their spawn location. The muskrat spawn location is the entire Blue Water Marsh, but marshy area along the shoreline and railway is a good clearing to look for them.

You'll have a better experience if you don't google things and if you don't use that interactive map. The scent glands tell you what animals they come from. Look out for those animals. Beaver and muskrat are both found near water. Look for muskrat in Lemoyne and beaver in New Hanover.

yes. and saying google. not trying to contribute. just having no life. i came here to try to make a serious thread about finding the glands which are incredibly hard to find in game from my experience.

this is probably the best advice so far. and the person who gave the link is a godsend. except i did find that link but the site doesn't clearly explain how to get to the animal/herb map and doesn't even hint that it exists. however, when the link was shared here i figured it must exist so i went back to the map (that i found by google in case the flat earthers here still think there's ppl who haven't heard of google), and found that part of the map.

Yeah, it's condescending, which is rude. That's what he's known for; taunting people, then accusing them of making rude replies, then he reports you. The user is famous for it. Go figure.

Tall Trees and Big Valley is where I usually spot skunks. :47_thumb_up:

you sir are a gentleman and a scholar.

after i find the best spots to find the glands i will come back to this thread and update it, and also give more thanks to the person who gave that link and anyone who actually contributed.

I still think google would have been much faster and easier. Would have avoided a lot of angry rant as well. I genuinely advice you to use google for every question you have. You can get better at using google. In fact, if you didn't find what you were looking for chances are you missed it. There is 2nd page on google and 3d page too and you can rephrase your search. The key to a successful google search is putting in keywords.

All this information regarding the glands is easily obtainable on google. It just took you way more time to get it here as opposed to a few seconds google search

i genuinely advise you to never advise anyone to google again with out contributing something about the subject matter of the thread. for example, if you're not providing a link to something useful or actually stating where u found some glands in game, you're wasting time.

you should never advise anyone to google again. of course you just like to taunt people and waste time i guess.
