FIX FOR WASHED OUT COLORS - NVIDIA USERS
I found this guide on steam in the Red Dead Redemption 2 section under the "guides" tab.

I was completely unaware of the Nvidia Freestyle Overlay. This is a game-saver not only for RDR2 but also other games that I play!

Kudo's and much acknowledgement to/for the user that found this nvidia overlay feature and creating the guide!!!

Just thought i would share this if you haven't already found the guide!!!

By the way, if you don't have GeForce Experience (downloadable at the nvidia website), you will need to download and install this program for the overlay feature to work. In the GeForce Experiece app, in the settings, make sure "in-game overlay" is checked or enabled!

Open the game, press alt+z and on the left hand side you will see the game filter feature. Add and remove filters depending on what you do and don't like.

This feature is a big game changer for me! Glad nvidia offers it! Dont think ill be using ReShade anymore!

So are we supposed to have Geforce experience running for the alt f3 to work
or what, the guide is somewhat vague and missing some details.

Just turn up digital vibrance, when i had a Nvidia card i used to always have digital vibrance at around about 70 or 80% i think.

EDIT: Never mind, just realised you are talking about HDR.

GeForce Experience does not need to be running (during gameplay) from my experience, but you do need to install the program and make sure the in-game overlay feature is enabled. You can find this option in the geforce experience app in the settings.

again, during the game, press alt+z to open the in-game overlay, then, on the left part of your screen, you will see a "game filter" option.

alt+f3 is just another way to open the "game filter" option.

All it tells me is when i have everything set, is a supported game is required to run this feature, thats when i clicked on f3. So im missing something somehwhere as RDR2 is a supported game.

alt+f3 simultaneously will open the geforce "game filter"; alt+z simultaneously will open geforce "in-game overlay"

also i do not have steam "in-game overlay enabled", so make sure its disabled.

also, try opening the game using the geforce experience application.

Can you provide some screenshots?? You have to be in the game in order for the game filter to work, i believe.

I have it all on nothing works it keeps saying
"a supported game is required to use this feature"

Does that mean i have to launch rdr2 through geforce experience?
Because otherwise i launch it through steam and then the rockstar launcher comes up
and thats how i get ingame. The game is supported it says so on their website.

Forget it, i dont use geforce experience, game is on steam, i play it that way i have for past 2 yrs, i already use reshade that removes the white tint, adds digital vibrance, sharpening
and everything else, im not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around with geforce experience and running another app, next to steam, rockstar too, its to much.
Thanks anyways.

btw, alt+z is just another way of accessing the "game filter" option (atl+f3) in the geforce in-game overlay (alt+z). hopefully this isn't too confusing.

Yeah, once geforce experience detects the game, you can use that app to load the game. Sometimes the gefroce experience app does not recognize the game, but if you manually add the game to the app, it will work and you can then load the game from the geforce experience app.

I hope you try to get this feature to work. Reshade is really cool but it can cause a huge drop in FPS which causes lagging in the game.

Maybe i will make a "how to video." Not sure if i have the right equipment to do so.

I appreciate the help, and information on this, i may try it in the future.
Reshade wont effect fps, i've got all my video settings maxed except for certain ones
and reshade, and 30+ mods and i average over 60+ fps, and the game is smooth, like im there.
Looks like you can use geforce experience to record vids,
i use OBS myself for my channels.

I definitely think the game filter feature by nvidia will start replacing some reshade mods i have used in the past!
