Was Online for 5 hours today. Had fun, saw a few players, made money and Gold.
Need more abuse? Go to Valentine. Buckle up.
Alright thanks for the suggestion. Right now the online story is a bit boring and I don't understand the difference of different servers like Valentine etc. Bounty also costs a lot of gold which I have no clue where to get. I'll continue to play around.
The map is big. 32 players only cover so much ground.

Xamount of things to do Rockstar isnt performing anymore maintenence all the work is in the hunting and you need serious cash to do anything Start with Collector check out discord server item tracking sell as much as you can find as much as you can till you can get moonshiners up and bounty hunter up. make sure you get trader up as welll and good luck.
*Daily tasks, complete as many as you can. They will give you gold.
*Join a possie. I made a lot of cash by joining random possies and helping the leader do bounty hunting, deliveries etc. Helps if you have a mic so you can communicate.
If you see any events pop up while your roaming, join them... pays out cash and gold just for taking part.
The idea is to do the Clay Davies Mission where you steal a 'better' horse. It'll be a Saddler or a Morgan and be 100x better than 'Scrawny Nag'. 'Scrawny' is a ride, is only slightly better than walking and that's about all we can say about him.
You have no control over what session you join. You're matched with others near you. Matchmaking Sessions are hit and miss sometimes - many people have already done those (many times), so they don't do them again. Eventually you'll get the required missions done. Just keep trying. Times when more folks are playing would be best - like not in the middle of the night - or maybe in the middle of the night - it depends where you are and who's playing.
The Fast Travel Posts are basically where Stagecoaches were in Story. There are more than there were Stagecoaches - they are marked on the map when you get near them. They look like Sign Posts that mark the road to places.
Upgrade your camp so you have one of those in camp. Then you get the big list of places to go when you activate it - for a price. <---not much, but each trip will cost a little.
Free Roam Missions pay $$ and Gold. The longer it takes, the more you get, oddly enough. Free Roam Missions are marked with little $$ Signs with little People Icons. Those are the guys that will offer you jobs - some honorable, some not, but it doesn't matter at all about honor. You get honor for brushing or feeding your horse, so any honor hit you take is easily made up. Be as good or bad as you want to. A HUGE bounty is 10 cents. Mostly.
Just play the game. You'll get the hang of it.
I have around 400 to 600 hours on Red dead online and about 400 to 600 on story mode. I once used to play 15 hours a day and in all of those 15 hours I would maybe meet 1-5 people but even though its an online game and you might expect to meet more people but to be honest if you were an outlaw in those times in real life you probably also wouldn't meet that many people in a day and i think thats the beauty of it when you actually meet someone its alot more memorable
