CTD in The Gilded Cage...

It's been a while since I've played, but came back to the game about a week ago. I've been completing challenges and doing a bunch of free-range stuff with absolutely no problems.

Until... I went back to Shady Belle and picked up with the story. The Gilded Cage begins well enough getting me through to the conversation with Bronte. Then the game crashes at the bottom of the stairs. It happened 2 times in a row at the same point... What gives?

All files validated and drivers are up to date. PC specs were above requirements back when I first purchased the game and I have since doubled my RAM from 16G to 32G!

Same problem. Can't get past this point in game...crashes every time at bottom of stairs in mayors house after cut scene. Any solutions?

From a reddit post:

Every time you follow Dutch downstairs after meeting with Bronte, the game crashes to Desktop. After reading other posts which are now archived, I was able to get past this by doing a combination of the following:

1. Wait at top of stairs until Dutch walks outside to the party

2. Take the opposite staircase downstairs

3. Lower graphic settings to Low (no need to restart game, just save/apply settings)

Wanted to post in case anyone else runs into this annoying bug.
