Game won't start

Hello!

I have tried a few things and nothing has made a difference: I made an exception for my Antivirus (Kaspersky), I have run the launcher AND RD2 as an administrator and disabled fullscreen optimisations, my Windows is completely up-to-date, as is my graphics card.

Even tho, when I try to launch the game, the Rocketstar Launcher pops up an "unkown error" #1000.1 ... However, when I open the launcher manually, and click on "play on steam", a different error occurs "Unable to launch Red Dead Redemption 2" Code:7002.1

Can anyone help?

OS: Windows 10
GPU: RTX 2080ti
CPU: Intel i9 9900
Anti-virus: Kaspersky

Ha yeah I have the same issue loads on steam and starts loading in the RS game launcher but than quits loading and fails to start ..

Isn't there any more text between "Unable to launch Red Dead Redemption 2" and "Code:7002.1" or that's all you see.

I think the issue is in fact the RS game launcher ... its so stupid to force people to have to game Apps working for the same game ..

Shame you can't just play this from steam like other games - Single player at least.
Ah well, it looks like a good game.

yep , its just annoying , and it seams only people here care about our issue and try to help cause from RS support its just no use !

I can play the online mode only but the story mode doesn't

the game loads onto the menu and whenever i click a role it starts to load and then freezes and crashes, anyone know how to help?

Wasted money. Game will not start. I have tried a good many supposed fixes to no avail.

First insure RDR2 is not running look in task manager. kill it or end task.
Then go to its directory in Steam Steamapps>common rdr2 rightclick PlayRDR2 and run as administrator.

Yes, there was something else, but it was just like "if the problem persists please go to Rockstar Support"... :/

Today the error has been different, when I click on "play on steam", a steam error comes "An error occurred while updating Red Dead Redemption 2 (app running)"

I really wanted to play this game, its a shame how troublesome this has been :/

Go to task manager and kill all rockstar processes, after that exit steam and reopen the rockstar games launcher. Click play on steam and it'll load up steam and everything should work
