Game looking blurry at 1080p? try the TAA Enhanced mod.
Those who are playing the game at 1080p and finding the game extremely blurry, the culprit is the way TAA graphics options is tweaked for the game.

I suggest use the TAA Enhanced tweak to make the game look sharper.

I got rid of the blur by using the in game upscale.

TAA On, FXAA On, Upscale to 1.25 - 2.0 which is between 1.5K and 2K, if I remember correctly. Upscale per your system's specs.

My game looked better than any other open world action/adventure open world game I've ever played.

But different strokes for different folks.

FYI, FXAA is literally a screen-wide blur. If you're specifically trying to avoid a blurry image, there is no reason to have this on.

With my above mentioned settings, it looked better and crisper with it on.

You don't actually need FXAA, infact it adds more blur to the screen and in motion it looks weird.

It's only because of one element, you are using downsampling. 1.25x - 2x render scale. It's not because of FXAA.

I'm upscaling, not downscaling. I'm on a 1080 TV and upscaling to fake 2K.

Anyway, I've went through every graphic option and tried every different setup when it comes to AA and scaling, and for my settings FXAA on looks better than with it off.

That's called downscaling, not upcaling.

Upscaling is where you are playing with in-game resolution of something like lower than 1080p and then scaling it to 1080p; like from 720p resolution to 1080p display output.

But isn't that what I'm doing? I'm at 1080 (my TV's native res) and then upscaling it to 1440.

Your TV is 1080p.

Ingame resolution is 1440p or
Ingame resolution is 1080p and you set render scale to above 1.0x

It's downscale.

Are you doing something else?

Yes my TV is 1080p 1K, I can't get true 2k or 4k.

I use the scale graphic setting in game to make it "fake" 2k. I was under the impression that's called upscaling, ie I'm using my 1K TV to fake a higher resolution than it actually is. Is that not called upscaling?

No, its called downscaling when your source resolution is higher than your display.
Like when you zoom-out with photos on your phone and the photo resolution (MP count) is much larger than the display resolution, that's downscaling right there.

It's only called upscaling when you are enlarging lower resolution source to your display. (like 720p in-game resolution or 0.5x render scale to 1080p display).

So that seems counter intuitive, but I think I get it.

You would think "upping/upscale" means upping the resolution, but you're saying downscaling means I'm making my TV make "fake" smaller pixels than what it should have. I'm basically pseudo-halving my pixels to create a crisper higher def image, hence the "down" nomenclature and not "up," correct?

Thanks for the info. Anyway. I tried FXAA on and off with my downscale settings and it made more jagged edges with it off. Also, hair seemed more frizzled and lower res.

With the mod it will look even better. 1.25x res + this mod looks great.
