Applies foot to door. Door opens.
Run in, kill all the bad guys before Micah can take a shot (just for spite).
Also:
Kill all 4 guys on porch before Micah can take a shot (again, just for spite...lol).
(Kill Archibald First - before he walks behind that post - or Micah gets a shot)
(Note: Holding ONLY ONE Cattleman - it's a piece of cake - Mark Archie, guy on right, Sherriff, Guy on Left)
(Note 2: Sidearms only - No Health Items - for the Gold Medal)
If guns are out or youre running, it doesnt do anything.
When YOU REBIND YOUR MELEE KEY - you don't need a dam prompt to tell you when to kick in a door. You just kick in a door when you feel like it. Mine is Middle Mouse Button. I often kick in the door to a General Store - it doesn't make the shopkeeper very happy, but it's a hoot.
My problem with the standard key (being the same thing as something else) was I punched my Horse ONCE. That was quite enough for me. Turns out it fixed a whole lot of other things I never had to experience - like fiddling around with a door when I was supposed to be going through it and robbing shots from Micah.
;)
I am starting to understand why so many people have so many problems with R*'s Default Keybinds. I don't have any. The Controls aren't that big a deal 'cause they've all been rebound.
It is tedious. That's a fact.
It took me a long time to find everything and remap it, but in the end I'm glad I put the time in. The game was worth it and is much more well behaved.
I found a key that was annoying me (like punching my horse) and fixed that and others I could figure out while I was there. Then played a while - and fixed some more stuff. Eventually I got 'em all - or most of 'em anyway<---- I recently rebound the Item Wheel, if you can believe it, and no there is no Horse Wheel... dammit, but it is only one key away 'cause I also rebound the Wheel Switcher Key...lol
BTW:
If you don't rebind your Melee Key, you can't hold your sidearm and use it as a club - and you absolutely WANT to do that - 'cause it's a real hoot and shortens fist fights like you would not believe.
:D
It's a problem because of 50 years in the work-force, the various smashing, cutting, resmashing, Arthritis, Carpal Tunnel and everything else that causes one to play on the RIGHT SIDE of the keyboard - with the Arrow Keys - 'cause a MAULED AND BENT finger tip sorta mashes several Letter Keys instead of just one. AWSD is RIGHT OUT!
For at least 30 years now I've been rebinding keys so I can play the game (any game) - so it's not a big deal to rebind some keys. I am skilled in that field. In fact, I'm an expert.... It's the very first thing I start to do - on day one. On day 40 I had most of 'em done.
I never would have tamed ONE Horse if I hadn't moved 'Calm' to Mouse Button 5 for easy spamming. By the time I hit 'Calm' with my nose, or a pencil between my teeth, the horse was gone...
:)
As I have had carpal tunnel in both hands by the time I was approx 32-35
So no KB really does me justice cause it has an awkward feeling. The G13 still feels right and has helped so much.
Yea maybe I need to go back to a mouse with more buttons.
Or perhaps change the Horse Melee button on Mouse to Calm. Yes I see that is much more useful to have, thank you for your suggestions.
I'm already pressing the button when they spook - and they only walk a step or two, if that. When I get close enough 'Calm' turns to 'Pat' and "there we go big fella"... "RIDE 'EM COWBOY!"
Run is Mouse 4
Melee is Mouse Middle (the disabled wheel button - hate that wheel, but the button's cool)
Dead Eye is right Ctl - right under that Mauled and bent finger.
The world is what we make it...
:)
I enjoy the process of taming - not really concerned about how long it takes, but when I'm spamming that button, I usually walk right up to them with a slight stop here and there.
My first Arabian:
Finally made it to the horse, got on it and started the chaos ride when those two wolves show up. The Arabian smashed one of them to death, but when it was tamed and broken it tossed me to the ground like a bag of taters and I had to take care of 'Bowser' with a Cattleman...lol
My other horse was standing there like:
"Yea, this outta be good"...
What fun, eh?
Only in RDR2
Also I shove a Horse Meal in his face hole and that usually does the trick...lol
When I'm bonding it gets the Full Magilla:
Brush
Pat
Food
Any more than that doesn't seem to trigger a bonding boost, but an extra Pat couldn't hurt. He seems to like it...
