can one carry more than on type of the gun?

Also how can u check if the gun u r about to pick up is better or not than the on u r carrying?

you can carry 2 pistols when you get the second holster by either progressing the story or crafting it at the fur traders stand. You can always carry up to two main guns (rifles/shotguns) at one time.

It's recommended that you don't pick up any of the weapons people drop unless it's marked with a gold icon. If you pick up the common guns dropped by enemies (marked with white gun icon) you cannot customize them and they will never be at perfect condition no matter how much you clean it. Always buy the guns at stores and you can customize them and they'll be with you forever even if you drop it in the field, all you need to do is go to your horse and re-equip it.

I got 4 sets of pistols .. 2 of each, my favorits are the navi 6 shoot ones, fast reload and very accurate, to volcanic pistols is allso one of my favorits .. though their alittle slow to use .. but hits hard on the targets

you're welcome, just again, watch out for the gold icon guns because they are rare guns you can pick up. you'll normally find them after beating a side story mission but sometimes you'll come across gun cases in houses. Also keep an eye out for special knives/axes you can find.

shame the only way you can get the navy revolver in single player is by using a mod.
