Eagle eye?

Ok - I am really confused here, could someone tell me how eagle eye works please. I am trying for find the dinosaur bones and you are told to use eagle eye to find them. I assumed that was the same as dead eye, and I hot the middle mouse button, but it does not show the locations. So is there another key you should enter please?

Eagle eye is exactly the same as dead eye except used in a non combat/hunting/shooting way.

Dead eye will deplete the bar surrounding the core but Eagle eye doesn't.

Eagle eye is used to find plants and bones etc but you must be within a certain range and you will see them by the stream of bubbles they give off.

Eagle Eye is Dead Eye - while NOT Aiming.
Dead Eye activates while you're Aiming.

Eagle Eye is Dead Eye - while NOT Aiming.
Dead Eye activates while you're Aiming.

+ (Except double tapping , if you double click mouse middle even without holding a weapon dead eye will activate instantly)

Have no clue what Middle Mouse was - mine is 'Melee', since I remapped it, but I think the first time I pressed Middle Mouse button twice and Dead Eye Activated I changed that s&^t by remapping Dead Eye to something else.

I also didn't have to punch my horse more than once to remap Melee to something else either. I understand many people just go on beating their horse mercilessly - then come here to complain about the controls... me? I just changed the control keys to something I liked better then learned to use them.

It is not supposed to show some locations. You must find them yourself by randomly exploring, dead eye just can help by highlighting them in close proximity and showing a yellow trail in the air.

If you don't want to explore yourself then use some map like this https://rdr2map.com
