You have 3 stalls at the stable in Story Mode. You can ride 1 - so that gives you 4.
Your 5th horse is a Temp Horse. You can lose a Temp Horse easily - buy taming another horse and level 1 bond it - poof - previous Temp Horse gone.
You can tame horses Online, but you can't saddle them, stable them, or sell them... they're useless.
Online horses must be purchased.
They can't be 'sold', but can be 'discarded'.
You can have 10 Stalls for horses Online.
Online has varying degrees of enjoyability - depending entirely on where you live:
Live close to a hot bed of hackers - Solo Lobby is your only hope.
Don't live close to a hot bed of hackers - might be fun... unless overrun with A-Holes.
Solo Lobby works.
Online Stables and Wagons are bugged ATM.
Everything works great in a Solo Lobby.
There are ways to play Online and it's fun.
Slow to start, but ramps up moderately, then quickly - then you're rich - buy 10 horses and spend all day riding them.
