Meteors!
Not asking for spoilers but eff my old boots if I didn't experience one.

Never saw it arrive but certainly heard it land if indeed it was a meteorite. High upon Roanoke Ridge even after a thousand hours play this was still without any shadow of any doubt the most violent, believable thunderstorm I've ever experienced.

This was high on Roanoke Ridge when unfortunately I was in the woods with a dog and two horses and by the time I'd extricated myself from them I had no idea where the possible meteor had landed.

What a game!

I like to play in the dark and eff me did this close call of an explosion with the sparks and splinters flying just past my face make me jump in my seat.

I've visited the meteor house but paid it no regard.

Anyone else had this?

The crater is close by to the house. Go north west and you'll soon notice bent trees.

Experiencing the meteor shower in this game is very rare. It's like 1/100K or more of a chance of it happening to a player even after 100+ hours in the game.

Ah that's interesting B.M.

If I was involved in this meteor shower I only wish I was higher up rather than in the woods.

Just the sound was really quite a singular experience in a computer game.

might be a perk ingredient at meteor house, nothing to write your mom about

There's also a house blowing up near you first time you go far south in new austin, makes a nice bang

Yeh - two meteoric effects to bare witness to - a house and a crater.

Find them both ?

Not sure I understand Dargon, are you saying this is part of a thread or story?

I haven't googled it because I'm trying to play as pure as I can but now I'm intrigued.

I can't even say for certain that this was a meteor strike (I wish I was on the road on the ridge when this happened) but it was a most unusual event with most unusual weather.

Well at first it seemed that it was totally random but actually with going to a certain area, time of day, certain weather conditions; it I possible to force a trigger of the meteor shower. But yes this is in Story Mode. To the best of my knowledge this doesn't occur in RDO

There are some YT videos regarding it all and how to trigger it.
