Gaming laptop to external monitor?
My 1080p laptop runs the game pretty well with its RTX 3060 but i'm curious if I connect to a 24" monitor with 1440p output?
I tried to connect to a 4k TV but was unable to change the graphics settings in game to anything higher than 1080, so i've no idea if the same thing would happen with a gaming monitor..

If it IS possible then my next question is do i need g-sync or would be fine with a cheaper 60hz screen??

There are many "non g-sync" screens that have been approved for "G-Sync" - if that makes any sense. (basically, the screens were not officially tested and "certified", but they have been "verified")

So, yes, a monitor less expensive than those with the G-Sync Surcharge should work well, provided it is still a very good monitor

did a bit more research and apparently freesync will only work when connected via display port not HDMI, so I'm going to need a USB-C to display port cable..

waiting on a Lenovo G27q-20 to arrive from fleabay, i have a feeling it'll be too big but we'll see
