You said you wanna play it for the achievements. I'm telling you you can skip the playing part.
Also, 2 seconds of using google would get you the answer to your question.
Mods do not affect Steam Achievements - at least these don't...
In several recent threads discussing mods, I have revealed the mods I'm currently using that do NOT alter game files and as far as I can tell in 2000+hrs of play, do NOT break the game. A few hic-cups to mention - and I do in this quote:
I used Google for more than 2 seconds and didn't find one mod that gives you all the achievements for RDR2. Seems like there may be some bogus info floating around. If someone can link to one - we'll know which one not to use. Mods are cool - having everything handed to you is not.
The above mods do NOT prevent Steam Achievements, nor do they give them you without earning them.
I meant that it took 2 seconds find out if mods disable achievements or not.
TL:DR
If someone wants to skip chapter 1 and have ultimate/special editions, they should play ones, and after that they should save the game twice or something.
There's a program that can unlock all steam achievements for every game. When will you realize that achievements don't mean anything.
The whole concept of achievements is laughable.
i beat the game twice %98 (didnt do some of the collecting stuff) in PS. Now i want to chill and do stuff and mainly which i said my last entry, i wanted to skip first chapter but because i finish the game twice i dont see any problem using "cheat" to get achievements which i already got them before.

The only "cheat" mods are the ones listed specifically as such.
*cough* not entirely true.
Did you ever wish to play a game from a different perspective, or as a different character. Or online content like the story and missions but not online with all the trolls and overpowered players....
Mods can allow that to happen from fans modifying the files to access those missions and such in single player. Does this look awkward when playing story missions yes...cause Arthur will not be him but whatever model your playing....
The one thing I wished is that there was a mod that made dead eye work for the models you switch to cause I have one of the saloon girl models I play as a lot on side missions and missions I never get to experience online cause no one plays them and just tries to do bounty hunting or Shoot each other for glory.
This game really needed a private lobby for friends or randoms on the internet to meet up and be able to play the storylines online. That being said if you do mod your game you should have a separate install so you can play that fully offline and not risk any bans then just rename the folders or go to the folder with RDR unmodded to play with online.
Another example of mods making the game fun and different is REDM.
I am an avid roleplayer and I am on one of the twitch rp servers so I actually take the role of an alchemist and emerald ranch hand to a group of players. It allows many of us to tell our own tales that can turn into any kind of story for fun.
This is no different than people watching tv shows or movies just think of it as an improvised story that many people write together. The server im on even lets you be able to sit and dance and so forth so I wouldnt just ♥♥♥♥♥ bout modders and claim all are lazy.
Now that everyone deviated from the topic which had I guess a picker as an answer for the one who made it, I would say this for those looking for answers like some that posted and me.
Yes mods do disable some achievements. It has to be how some are coded, I know rampage which I used for model switching caused issues with it counting anything in the achievements but they seem to work fine unmodded.
That being said there are mods that do not disable achievements it sadly is not a direct answer and is a lot of trial and error. If you have the computer space you could make multiple folders of RDR2 and keep one vanilla for a base then test them like I am doing now.
I have an issue where the achievements I got on my saves on Epic and from previously XBOX and Playstation do not show it seems. I am trying a new save now but the intro is the worst. Do hate games that draw out the beginning every time. If a save is past chapter 2 let us opt out of Chapter 1 and the snow tutorial cause my god its a drag when you have legit done it over 7 times.
