"Duchesses and other animals" mission bug?

Hi there!
I successfully completed part 1 of this mission, but part 2 for some reason isn't tracking my progress.
Screenshot 1 says: 0 of 37 items collected. https://i.imgur.com/GxESygQ.png
While screenshot 2 says: 20 of 20 heron plumes, 7 of 7 lady slipper orchids, 10 of 10 moccasin flower orchids, although none of those boxes is ticked. https://i.imgur.com/hVlTTBZ.png
In fact I only have 4 heron plumes and 2 moccasin orchids in my satchel.
What's happening? Should I progress further in the main story maybe? Or simply collect everything and hope for the best, maybe the game would register it?

I think (from memory) you need to collect all the items, then they get checked.

Yes - 'The List' - or lack thereof - makes this mission a real PITA.

I think you also need to collect them after the mission starts, if you had them from before the mission, they might not count towards the total.

I'm not positive on that, but that's definitely the case for the challenge where you have to collect all the herbs/flowers to get to 100% completion, so it may be here too . . .

If you had them, they do count (paid attention to that detail in this playthru), but that might be the reason the list doesn't work right. Not sure about that one.

You CAN also make an orchid go 'extinct' - if you try to gather then all beforehand. They'll begin spawning again when you get the mission, but you may need to pick all those Vanilla Flowers that took their place - not sure about that one.

Herbalist 9 - how does something so easy - become so hard? <---no list... that's right.
I have learned to go directly to an analog recording device, start from scratch, and hope for the best.

I just finished this a couple days ago, early items still count. I go turn in the flowers and see if it triggers if it is showing all collected without checkboxes. otherwise go try and get 1 more of each and see if that does it. Other than that you might need to go to old save, I haven't seen that before.
