What is the difference between RDR2 and RDR2 story mode?
Thinking of picking this up but confused on what story mode vs the base game is.

Also is it worth and extra 7$?

Thanks.

Red Dead Redemption 2 contains 2 modes of play:
Online - Multiplayer
Story - Single Player Campaign

You select which one you want at the startup screen:

(an image of the start up screen is at the very top of that link above)

On Steam, at this time:
RDR2 is $59.95 <---contains Story and Online
Red Dead Online is $19.95 <---- No Story - bad idea - you won't be able to play if you live in a high density Hacker area and you won't know until you try.

If you'd rather buy it a little cheaper - add it to your wish list and when it goes on sale they'll email you.

It's worth every single penny of that $60 bucks however.
At over 2000 hours I think I got my money's worth some time ago...

I guess I'm confused because the ultimate edition lists story mode as exclusive to the UE.

That might mean 'edited for your market'.

Not sure how many 'Versions' are in play, if any, in different Countries.

Throw your hat into the ring mate. Many of us have been so poor that we've had to consider what to do with our spare cash. If you're a gamer type give it a go, you won't be disappointed.
