Online starting (connecting) issue.

When I tried to play online, it says "Unable to connect to Rockstar game services at this time. Please try again later. [Error: 0x50170000]" and I can't play. What is this?

* how many times do you get that error before you give up?
there are the occasional spikes where people have problems connecting.
but enduring and trying to join free roam Multiple times can help,
sometimes i have to press free roam 5+ times with connection errors, before i can squeeze past the error.
* using a vpn? if so, don't.
* using wireless or wired connection? wired is better ofcourse.
* you on a college network? this can be a issue with some games and how the school network is set up.
* got another rockstar game? gta4 or 5? can you still join that online?
* you're sure you're logged in with social club? press the home key after starting the game and double check if you're logged in.
* give your router/modem a restart. turn it off for a minut or 2, then turn the power on again and let it restart while you get a drink.
