"What did you buy": I asked curiously
You NEED the Varmint Rifle.
It was a sound purchase.
Do you have a 'Rifle' or a 'Repeater'?
There's a BIG difference.
I'd like to hear this discussion, please.
If I need the verming rifle, then fine.
if your playing online you can purchase a weapons locker at camp, i think in story mode you just have to deal with it
^You beat me to this point.
A Repeater has a lever and can shoot fast. Unfortunately you can't take a Perfect Deer with a Repeater. You need a Rifle for that.
Do these guns have names? What are their names?
Very soon you should be working to upgrade your satchel - and you'll need PERFECT pelts for that. You can't get PERFECT pelts unless you use the correct weapon.
You can't take a Perfect Rabbit Pelt without the Varmint Rifle.
There are some weapons you MUST have in the beginning. Right now you should be hunting animals - not men.
Thanks to all of you guys for the help
+2
When I first started playing I tried to fill my Animal Compendium and made an ENORMOUS amount of money. No, that's not right. OFFENSIVE amounts of money (and I don't offend easily.) Even if you suck at hunting, you'll STILL profit mightily and have more food than your camp can handle. You'll be begging the butcher to help you unload all the meat because Pearson can't cook it fast enough! And filling your compendium will make you an expert hunter in no time. Oh, and that's just ONE way to make money.
And then Juice told me about pharmaceuticals in the game (ie: crafting and selling potions.) Gamechanger, much?
Hint: If you kill an animal and you know it's a going to be a "poor pelt" because you panicked and accidentally pulled out your double-barrelled shotgun to kill it, then just take the whole animal and don't try to skin it. You can sell or donate the whole animal instead of trying to sell an inferior pelt.
In Chapter 2 I usually start and finish most of the challenges - by mid Chapter 3 they're all done. Arthur then becomes Superman - and he can wade in on a band of Bronte Thugs unarmed and beat the crap out of them...lol
Oh yes - Special Tonics...
A real PITA if you can only carry 3.
My Satchel is #1 on the runway as soon as my feed hit the ground at Horseshoe.
How else am I going to carry 198 fish worth $5.34 each to St. Denis? Carrying 10 over there isn't worth the trip.
I get in a big fire fight with - anybody - and only have 3 Special Snake Oils? HA! I pour 3 down my pants before we even get started.
I know where every concentration of Indian Tobacco is (main ingredient for Snake Oils) and it's usually right next to:
Hummingbird Sage
American or Alaskan Ginseng
and any number of wild berries and mushrooms
We, Arthur and I - are Herbalists.
He cooks his up in a cup.
I use something entirely different... and it's not in the Online Catalogue.
