Which keys to pull Lenny back onto train? PC version

I'm supposed to pull Lenny back onto the train in the intro chapter. the right-hand command indicates what I'm supposed to do, but it isn't actually clear which mouse keys I should be using. Is it the right mouse? The right mouse and the centre wheel? It almost looks like the game thinks I should have a fourth key on my mouse.

Anyway, if someone could help we with this I'd appreciate it because I simply cannot work it out after several tries.

The PC controls are a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ disaster, man. I used PC defaults and it was a repeated left click - did that not work for you?

You may have to hold R mouse button down and repeatedly hit LMB to pull him up.

No, the left mouse didn't work. The right mouse didn't work. The center mouse didn't work. I've tried clicking them repeatedly and holding them down, but none of it works.

Screaming at the computer also didn't work, but at least it made me feel better,

Also, the game freezes on me if I try to restart right at the train part of the mission. I have to go all the way back to the start of the mission and replay it endlessly and I'm effing bored out of my gourd at this point.

Is the game good? I mean, is it worth all this BS? I keep hearing that it's a masterpiece but so far I'm having so much trouble with the controls I can't see myself enjoying it if it's all frustration and no fun.

Oh man, I'm sorry, that really sucks. I'm 90% sure just hitting E to grab Lenny and then button-mashing left click was what worked for me.

The PC controls are such ass, though, it took me about 30 hours just to get used to them. In my opinion, it is worth it, but not everyone will like this sort of game. It's slow, there's a lot of story-based content, and lots of "collect all the X" challenges. After getting really into MMOs, the slow and methodical storymode is just what I needed. It'll bore a lot of folks to tears, though.

I have a controller for 'Driving' things - like cars, not horses.

Other than that - old dog can't learn new trick (controller).

I too had some frustrations at the start and ran into some later on as well but the game really is a masterpiece and worth sticking with. There's a lot to take in control wise when new to it but you'll get there mate. I struggled with the wolves at the start, got frustrated and turned it off. A few hours away and things are easier with a clearer mind.

The game is so good - any extra time I spent rebinding, training, learning - was worth it.

It took a while, but now the controls seem fine. My fingers know just where to go.

Playing a console game on PC with KBM is a bad idea... just go get an Xbox controller it makes life so much easier with these games.

I don't remember exactly believe you have to hold E to interact and keep pressing LMB real fast.

This usually is correct its tapping the Left mouse button frantically ... but then you have to know the right keyboard key to use ... e or f whatever usually it tells you make sure you have helps enabled in settings ...

I just ran into this today. The trick was to hold E, and press the left mouse button.

The game is full of this type of thing. PC controls are terrible. Arthur moves like a robot. I don't have a console and I don't like controllers so I'm stuck with a mediocre port.

After five attempts , try holding both mouse buttons down, while clicking the Left button repeatedly.
You will see a progress bar on the square that shows its working.
