There's also the fact that in the age of the internet, it's kinda pointless to make elaborate puzzles when 99% will just google the answer, and most puzzles in games aren't even puzzles, just a trial and error exercise.
To be honest though, none of the Treasure Map ending stash locations will net you very much in Story Mode. It would be better to go find all the Gold Bars instead.
But yea if you really want something in the game and not sure how or where; Google is your friend, it's all on there for you very quickly. I for one try to avoid it and use as a last resort kind of thing.
