Honor / Good Karma?

I wonder why they implement an Honor, or Good Karma mecanic? Because most of missions, roles jobs, daily quest... implies to do bad actions! Unless someone is playing the game like a saint will play the game, what is the purpose of the honor mecanic system? Is that part of the game have a big impact on the online games?

Single Player:

You get a different outcome at different Honor levels.
You get a discount - everywhere - when Honor is high.
You're more likely to be 'forgiven' for some smallish crimes - when Dishonorable players may go to the gallows.
You get the Super Duper Hero Grips for your Cattlemans at Hero Honor (Level +4)

On the other hand;
The game can be way more interesting when you're wanted in every state with every lawman on the map aiming at your head.
The only discount you get is when you rob the place.
You get the Super Duper Satin Squad Grips for your Cattlemans at Heathen Honor (Level -4).

It's an interesting system, is likely to annoy at some point (until you figure it out) and does effect the final part of the game.

Multiplayer:
I have no idea.

Don't forget to greet all people u meet, it gives you free karma points
You can literally murder a lot of folk and then go to Saint Denis to farm honor lmao

Try the "Bountiful" achievement if you want to drop your honor a bunch in a hurry . . .

Survive for 72 hours with a $250 bounty in all states . . . you'll need plenty of ammo, tonics and thyme big game on hand, but by the time I made it to 72 hours, my honor dropped from full to bottomed. Never went the low-honor route before, so it was an interesting experience . . .just killed everyone and everything in sight; found out the bounty tops out at $1500 in each state, no matter how much of an ass you are . . .

Juice already explained what Honour in Single Player does, in Multiplayer it does literally nothing except what 4 missions you get in the story line before the final mission (Which is the same no matter what).

I like the idea of the honour system but it is just so badly implemented. There is no reason to not have high honour, -50% discount in ALL SHOPS at highest level? It is easier to get money if you just go full low honour but it is absolutely not needed since money is not at all hard to come by unlike in Online. Not to mention that you can get max honour fast by simply greeting everyone you meet.

I've tried - hard - to get max honor by any means necessary and it's impossible to go above Level 4.5 or so, until Chapter 6 - then it's easy to reach Levels 5 and 6. In Chapter 6 you get 1.5% Honor Bonus for everything good you do. Until then, you don't.

I even have Auto-Greet Replies mod installed and Arthur speaks to EVERYONE that speaks to him automatically. I did get the Hero Grips at Level 4 easily however and get a 25% discount. That's a $1000 horse for $750 that in Chapter 6 you'll get for $500.

Fully bond that horse and sell it for $1000. Good Horse, cheap, and quite an investment opportunity. There's good honor working for ya and pretty well at that.

When you're buying Premium Cigarettes in hordes at every General Store on the map to fill that order - a little discount comes in handy and ur still selling duplicate cards to the fence at full price when you got them at 25-50% discount. When you get them all you've saved quite a bit of money and gotten more of it back at the fence.

That quest is worth about a thousand and I figure I've spent about $250 in Premium Cigs. Well, I'm not going to try to find 'em all, am I?. It takes long enough to buy them all and I know where the General Stores are..lol
