Could you do something for me and give me your honest opinion? I've been fiddling around myself...
I know this sounds counter-intuitive, but if you set the "Game" HDR settings to 9000 Peak Brightness and between 300 - 350 paper white, how does it compare to Cinematic for you?
I've been fiddling around in my own esteem, and I think I'm almost at the perfect point. I just have to find out exactly where.
Cinematic mode by default did look appealing when I tried it, but some areas were bright to the point I lost immersion (night scenes for example.) My settings are still bright at night, just less drastically, but with an extra sheen of sunny glimmer in the daytime.
Can you tell me if my settings are getting more in the "natural" direction?
EDIT: I think I'm the most satisfied of 9000/300 at the moment. Any more than that and the brights get overblown. Still, it's nice to have second opinions.
I'm using HGiG and the Warm 1 White Balance setting on the TV itself along with these settings, and it's looking pretty good to my eye.
