Rockstar's prefers quality over their developers lives
Within any job your employers take advantage of you including Rockstar. Reading about how rockstar closed studios and other projects like bully 2, to then force those devs to crunch their entire working life and their personal life over a game for quality is ridiculous. Article and video explains it all.... but holy crap features and ideas developed by Mad dog studios who merged with rockstar and crunched hours into bully 2 and Red dead 1 is insane but awesome. How the devs made an AI system when robbing a store those owners don't forget you etc was gonna be used in bully 2... but was used in Red dead 2.

If there ever a Red Dead Redemption 3 or a GTA 6 it won't shock me if it turned out to be rubbish or completely different from it's originals or political blah blah.

Yeah man, work sucks.

People seem to not realize that all the people that made rockstar great and unique have either left or retired from the company after RDR2. I expect GT6 to be a take2 game, loaded with micro-transactions and a woke campaign.

I prefer quality over some dev lives too.

Is that what your boss at work says? quality over spending time with friends, sleeping and getting kinky with your partner?

Yeah like what the hell has happen to GTA V? It was so good now it is just online micro transaction running strip clubs with lambos over actual content. Rockstar is gonna fall even more not treating their devs right including the cleaner.

I would consider this, if I could not get pass the possibility of an employee dying of sleep deprivation,
then heart failure or other related causes, like other addicted gamers who we have lost, may they rest in peace.
This is one of the reasons I don't want to ever ask anyone to play a game or like to,
due to the unknowing medical conditions of others and their addiction.
The average corporations and any company will take advantage of anyone,
exploit them, then bad mouth them and lie,
after stealing intellectual property from employee's or the consumer.
They say capitalism is an excuse to spy on and steal children's future's,
so they can make commercials based on them,
or products or invest into something,
capitalism is a really good excuse to cyber enslave the masses to become a millionaire or billionaire, trust me they don't get RICH by being honest or not stealing intelligence or marketing.

Well you should probably see first hand how people work in these big dev companies. If they half ass their job for few years and then have to work harder few months it won't hurt, don't worry.

Honestly I believe most people crying on social media about crunching never really had a real job themselves and have way too much free time on the internet.

Selfish to read you prefer that method. As for freeloaders well that's different. But devs being exploited to grind more risking their health is dangerous, nevermind their mental health to please bosses and investors. Have you never worked a job? go and work in medical with not enough staff risking patient health but staff are grinding away by upholding their duties and excellence for low pay and no social life.

You be complaining when the next gta or any other game rockstar procedures is crap.

I don't know how anything what you are saying supports your view to any extent. People will complain if game gets delayed. People will complain if devs didn't crunch and released buggy game. People will complain if game is ok, bud devs crunch. People will complain if they have nothing to complain about. Internet in the nutshell.

He prefers what method? Don't think he's saying he prefers any method. He said you should look at how people work in these companies before you pass judgment.

There's a world of people out there that work long hours, doing difficult/hard work to make money that you sound oblivious to. Maybe stop by my work next week tell them you feel I'm working to many hours while you're at it.

Well Rockstar is gonna crumble if it continues to mess up. We all don't want another blizzard drama.

What are you- some kind of commie?
Scrogdog Jan 8, 2022 @ 7:33pm
It doesn't take a commie to recognize exploitation by big business. Capitalism is, by nature, a very dog eat dog deal. In other words, it ain't pretty.

It is simply that most alternatives are worse. Capitalism, when the good stories are told, brings out the best in us. The innovation and invention. The drive to succeed.

But that doesn't mean that all is perfect, does it? It is human nature that we see things that go beyond capitalistic intent. It can be perverted to meet selfish needs rather than the greater good.

That's the world we live in. Instead of painting with broad brushes, we need to address specific intent by specific companies. And that's all it is; where we draw the lines of fairness as compassionate humans. It has nothing to do with capitalism, communism, or any other system. It's about us as human beings and where we ALLOW the lines to be drawn.

Regulation and other government intervention are a pretty crucial part of a functioning capitalist system, without things like anti-trust laws you end up with huge monopolies over private sectors who can then hold a country over a barrel with threats of outsourcing and mass downsizing that would break the economy. I would argue we need even more and newer regulations in that regard today, and we need to scale back some of the rampant privatisation that has occurred in recent decades too. It really doesn't have to be all or nothing to function. Also getting people like Elon Musk to pay his taxes would be nice.

Work sucks.... Just ask Sam Houser.. he's done with it. Pretty much expect no more Red Dead Online updates and GTAV will be the same old Intern-fueled updates as usual. It's downhill from here. Better embrance potato graphics because that motion video nonsense along with the programming is....just....so...much...work. Screw that: Rockstar Games
