Can’t pick up weapon
So finished the Driscoll mission at the cabin. Somehow my carbine got switched for a double barrel shotgun on the wall. But, I want my carbine. It keeps on saying hit tab and then I go to the weapon menu and it’s blinking there and I can’t do anything after that I can’t move. I’m frozen. Eventually I quit the game and it restores me back to two missions ago. Pretty annoying actually. Just starting this game and just not getting the flow

Your supposed to clean the shotgun after getting it, heard the prompt sometimes glitches out and doesnt show. Did you try that?

As soon as you pick it up - it's in your inventory. You can get it off the horse - and your carbine will be with you as well. You don't lose a weapon when you pick up a new one, but you may need to get it off the horse.

Usually, if I want the weapon, I'll pick it up, then pick up my original... unless the game wants me to clean a dirty one before I switch back. I wouldn't use it until it's customized anyway.

Thanks for replies. Actually I think I messed up the game because I had my carbine and bow on me, and there was no slot for it to go to. Redid the WHOLE mission, then left the bow. Yep the mission forces you to pick up the gun and clean it before you can move on.

You'll never actually lose a weapon.
Once you pick it up - it's yours.
If you're not carrying it - it's on the horse.
