Chapter 2 A quiet time bug - any solution?

Hey there,
got a strange, repeatable bug, that makes this mission impossible. Couldn't find any solution to it, maybe someone encountered this or something similar and fixed it?
When I start the mission and get to the cutscene in the saloon, suddenly the NPC voices stop. My character still speaky, but I can hear noone else and can't interact with anyone. So after the cutscene I cannot go on, as I cannot interact with Lenny. Pressing ESC also only greys out the screen, theres no options. So basically all I can do it switch to Windows and shut the game down...
Any ideas?

I've seen that people who use a mod Lenny's Simple Trainer have that issue with one or two missions. So if you use that mod, just remove version.dll from the game's folder and finish the mission.
That's all I have.

Thank you! No mods in use, sadly, so that's not it... I hope the mission is optional, so I can still finish the game...

Hello, yes, indeed, though it is a while ago and I don't know what exactely solved it... I believe just doing other quests first, sleeping and then coming back later. I definitely didn't install any mods or fiddle with settings. Hope you can circumvent the bug too!
