but they re the fastest right?
The Nokota, Thoroughbred and Missouri Fox Trotter are faster when fully upgraded. The only thing the Arabian has over them is faster acceleration.

By the way isn t there a mission where a couple of guys buy horses? and we can steal them and too k the horses to them?
You'll need to do a glitch in order to get any of the Braithwaite stallions. Normally after the mission they're gone.

There's also a Black Arabian you can get early in Saint Denis if you want to play RNG for the right random event to trigger.
I got a random event to trigger at Saint Dennis at night to get a Black Arabian. Guy gets off one and goes to stick up a rich couple, I tackle him and pistol whip him, no problem. And that was when only about half way through Chapter 2
That's the event.

In my playthrough the robber is dead due to being headshot, but yea... the end result was the Black Arabian.

No honor hit for killing the robber, but you take a hit for stealing his horse...
Where's the justice?...lol

The Black is the best of the 3 early ones - the Rose Gray Bay is the top of the line. I'm bonding it after I finish with the Silver Dapple MFT - he's halfway there so it won't be long. Early impressions are - it's fast and nimble. I'm certain that's about the best there is to say about it.

if u guys had to do a ranking for hunting horses what 5 races in rdr2 would you rank? Misssouri first, turkoman second and..? thank you
Turkoman First.

Are you talking about 'Hunting Horses'?

Still - Turkoman First. Best horse in the game, IMO.

I always get that Perlino Andalusian on Roanoke Ridge first - just as soon as I can get there in Chapter 2:

Very brave horse. Strong. A cannonball couldn't take it out.

The MFT Silver Dapple Pinto is a good horse, ugly as all get out, but not as ugly as it's Strawberry Vomit counterpart that you can buy at Scarlet Meadows - at some point early on. If I don't stumble onto the Silver Dapple Alive in Chapter 2 - I'll simply spawn one in with the Native Trainer. I'm not impressed with the developer's design of not letting the hero ride the best horses.

The Dark Bay Turkoman is a Braithwaite Horse, can be stolen during 'Horse Flesh for Dinner' in Chapter 3.

When I'm breaking horses for Horseman 9, I'll look for a Flaxen Chestnut Hungarian Halfbred. Good Horse for Hunting. If I have room in the stable I'll ride that one for a while. There's usually a Piebald Tobiano in Van Horn right when you need to steal one - as you arrive back from Guarma.
https://reddead.fandom.com/wiki/Hungarian_Half-bred_(RDR_2)

"Buell", is a Dutch Warmblood - brave, strong. I ride him at the end of Chapter 6. Seems fitting.

Anyway, that's my stable. The Turk is my Alpha Horse. The Andalusian is usually replaced by the Turk. The Andalusian is good, but it's no Turk...lol

I tame and sell the White and Red Chestnut Arabians. I steal the Black Arabian in St. Denis after saving the couple. I ride them enough to bond them fully (they're worth more). They are beautiful, but awful horses for hunting. They're too short for my tastes. Feels like a Pony that kids should be riding at the fair...lol

Regarding the MFT: It's a good horse. It's brave and fast, but it's no Turk. If I'm fairly confident we'll be jumped by a 6-pack of wolves I'd better be out running them with the MFT 'cause it will dump me if we get surrounded. The Turk will not.

Regarding the Turk: I did finally get dumped by my trusty Turk the other day when that blasted Cougar on Roanoke Ridge surprised us, got behind him and took a swipe at him. That was my fault. We should have beat feet, but I was too slow on the kick-off. I got the cougar and apologized to 'Bowah' for getting us in trouble...lol

Still, the White Arabian is easy to find very early in the game. And all horses are very easy to tame. This white Arabian will serve anyone new whenever still very early in the game. Once you find another worthy horse, you should have the Arabian at level 4 bond. Which will fetch about $200 minimum at any Stable. Sell only once you find a better horse though. None of the games purchased horses in story-mode are worth the in-game $ pricing.
That's Dutch's horse. Break a standardbred and be done with it.

I ride the White Arabian to get it bonded. It's a 'Sports Car'. A bigger horse serves better for what I'm doing with it. I need a Truck/Tank. An Arabian isn't a tank and looks silly covered in mud/blood with pelts stacked up on it's ass.

The Red Chestnut Arabian is the best looking horse in the game, IMO. I get that one and ride it to bonded. I ride that one to town until the Black one from St. Denis comes along. It has slightly better stats, but the Red Chestnut has no peer in the pretty department.

I've had a Standardbred. Awful, spooky things. It hurts more when they throw you - they're taller.

I used to think I needed a race horse to claim those town-to-town challenges for Horseman. You could do any one of those on Shamus' Mule. The last one, Van Horn to Blackwater I do fast trotting almost all the way - especially in the last bit when the Pinkies have me surrounded. I'm in 'Ignore All' mode in the trainer, so they aren't shooting at me, but they are in the way and if you run into one or more of them you get de-horsed and the challenge is ruined. Slow and steady - then get the heck out of there and pay the $5 bounty for trespassing...lol

I stabled this black Shire Josea gave me. I don't see how I can go to anything else now. Even an Ardennes looks like a pony next to this thing.

It is a beast.
It's just not a great all purpose horse.

Turks, Halfbreds, Andalusians - are Trucks.

Shires are Monster Trucks...lol

I always feel bad for 'Brown Jack'. Bill never brushes him, but I do sometimes if he'll let me.
What that little thing ;) I always liked Bill's Horse. But I just noticed this gorgeous horse at camp and it turned out to be Kierans's of all people. I think he needs to pony up and hand it over.
Tennessee Walker. A good, solid ride. The gait is not unlike a MFT. Kieran's is a Flaxen Roan, but I will tame and ride the Gold Palomino if I see one that's handy - or during Horseman 10, but usually by that time, I've had a Walker, bonded it, rode it and sold it.

Arthur's first horse is a Walker. I'm not a fan of the coat, but it's a good horse. It's stats are pretty low. Sold.

I like riding a Walker. The Gold Palomino is pretty sporty when fully bonded under a trapper saddle. I might buy a Flaxen Roan to see what it does when I get to the epilogue this time (very soon).

So many horses... so little time (and stable space).

98% of the horses in this game suk due to poor stats.
R* put all those in RDO to have something for people to spend $ on.

Well... you still haven't gotten 'The Best' horse in the game and can't until Chapter 3

iirc you can get a Turkoman at the Saint Denis stables.

But the true best horse will always be the Andalusian ;p
My John has a Rose Gray, a polka dot Apaloosa and a tiger stripe Mustang. The rose gray is the "best" horse but I don't notice it giving me any special advantage. You mostly just keep pace in story mode. Like I said, white arabian is Dutch's horse so grabbing it to sell sounds like the best strategy. A horse is a horse of course in story mode. The best one is the one you like best.
