i really miss playing this games online mode, tho it is disheartening when immersion is broken every 5 mins by a hacker. anyone know a ways to sit in a private lobby?

i don't know if or when rockstar might crack down on these things:
but look up the gta5 solo lobby trick, has to do with task manager and putting a application on pause for 10 seconds or something.

or you'll have to use a mod.

task manager trick doesnt work in RDR2 and could never get you banned.

The only solid legal way is to go into character creator/change and wait for 60-120 seconds, then back out. It will clear the lobby. Sometimes you get lucky and it stays empty, other times you need to do it a few times.

you can't, even if you do find a solo lobby by using tricks you can only play in that temporary solo lobby for around 5 minutes and then the game will automatically put you in a crowded lobby again no matter what.

the only way to avoid cheater is by finding a new lobby through the main screen and hoping they aren't there and won't come there. which sucks

yeah i realize now that the character creator has a $400 in game currency paywall so that method wont work.

you can get in the character selection and then quit without paying, you only pay once you confirm it. but like I said private lobbies only last for 5 minutes at most and you'll be back again in public so it's not even worth doing that.

Lately they seem to float around Valentine for whatever reasons, so for most of my gameplay lately I just avoid that general area. Sometimes have them floating around Thieves Landing also.

For the most part, I hardly run into problems with them. Maybe 5% of the entire time out of all my many many hours of RDO have I run into them.

One thing you can do is load up the game and if you had issues where you last left the game; like lets say I ALT+F4 the game last time and was in Valentine where many of them were hanging out and causing problems, instead of picking Free Roam from Main Menu, choose something like Camp to spawn at your Camp (if you had that setup somewhere prior), or go to the very bottom of main menu and pick a Region to spawn into.

During free roaming playing, if you run into problems with cheaters, people obviously using a trainer, etc. Hold down L key and do a Quick Join on an Event. After that actually loads you into it, you can exit it and go back to free roam gamplay. This many times will change sessions when you do this.

I've found that simply pressing ESC > Story > Exit Game > now I'm back at main menu and then selecting free roam again; usually does not change my lobby session most times. So that alone is really not a quick way to switch lobbies.

I'm going to be in the same boat. Wanting to be left alone if I go PC. I'm already a vet at RDR2 on console. With GTA5 I usually had no problems finding solo lobbies. Usually late at night. A trick in that game was join a lobby with a small number of people and stay there. They would drop or quit, and some time no one else would join for hours. I know a lot of tricks. But really in multi-player I didn't have a problem. If you have a hassle you can just change lobbies. Some times I'd join strangers in hitting a gang hideout and we'd co-operate without hostilities. If I kept my distance from cowboys I was usually OK. I'd move off if they came close. I'm a long-distance sharpshooter and very good at it. Guys that tried to move up on me would get shot from far away. Then I'd run away. I could have 10 people in a lobby and play for hours without anybody killing me. I'd just run away or move out of range.

There is a mod that will allow you to establish private lobbies. It is called the RDO Lobby Manager.

The good news is that it will completely eliminate hacker/cheats. The bad news is that it will completely eliminate everyone else as well. Only those who have your private lobby name will be able to access your session. Which is great for friends who know your private lobby name, but not so good for everyone else.

Its very possible to get virus or malware from nexus mods. Not worth it for this game.

I chucked you 4800 points for that link. I'll certainly use it, especially at the beginning, but not all the time. It's beautiful to get done some of the monotony work without getting your head blown off every five minutes. "Got to town Tonto." F--k you Kimosabe. Going to town is a really good way to get shot. The irony is you get your head blown off trying to go into the gun store to buy that gun you need to have a fighting chance.

Quick question, you only could play with people who have this mod installed?

Yes. They must have the mod installed, and they must know the name (it is case sensitive) of your private lobby so they may join.
