Game constantly crashing without warning or any crash logs
I switched to a new PC but this time on Windows 11.

This game just crashes to desktop after running it for barely 1-2 minutes.

No other games have this issue at all.

The only 'fix' for me right now is to reboot the PC fresh and launching the game again and the crashes just stop. Anyone having this issue as well? It's annoying that I need to keep restarting my PC every single damn time just to make this game run 'stable'.

Previously on my old PC running on Win 10, no such crashes happen.

Edit: running on Nvidia drivers version 511.23

Probably rockstar launcher? Perhaps it isn't optimized enough for Windows 11 OS.

It isn't the Rockstar Launcher - seeing as how it launches and all...

Make sure the game isn't trying to use Integrated Graphics, if you have it. The quickest way would be to disable it - permanently. You can also look at 'Settings/Graphics' near the top and see which device the game is trying to use (if you have two - one being the Integrated Graphics) then select your powerful graphics card.

I got a lot of cloud sync errors with rockstar launcher oddly today as well. This is stupid.

Just wondering if anyone else on windows 11 could run this game without issues?

Guess mine is an isolated case then. Wish there is at least some crash log so I can see what’s causing the odd crashes and why does a fresh restart fix this issue every time

you might want to find a win 11 forum and ask about it there , it is a new os and will have teething issues , more than likely that's where the problem is

This Pc-Documents-Rockstar Games-Launcher.
There are some log files. at the end in the file, it should write the cause of the error.

Well, don't wait for that guy to spew his special talent into this thread as well - report him now. The sooner he's out, the better off we'll all be.

-------------

I'm confident it's just something small that isn't doing something, or is overdoing something. I would try to validate the game files. Update drivers. Check all the usual suspects - and once we get rid of the useless noise in this thread - I hope we can get this guy playing a Great Game. <---he probably already knows that in the little time he's spent with it so far.

Here's a Google Page with some appropriate search terms that will get you started, Cat Nose Presser:

https://www.google.com/search?q=red+dead+redemption+2+chaper+2+random+crash+on+windows+11&oq=red+dead+redemption+2+chaper+2+random+crash+on+windows+11&aqs=chrome..69i57j33i10i299.14400j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

The first suggestion is to verify the game files - then take it from there... if the issue persists try a few different search phrases and keep checking stuff. A drowning man will grasp at straws, so grasp a few...lol

What I see is similar in size - but it's a Poodle - and nothing to be afraid of.
(If the Grumpy Hermit Lady had a pair of those she'd still have her half of the map).

what I seee is two idiots speed running trying to get banned for targeted harassment

i'm still having this issue. Right now the crash log I have is this:

2022-02-07 18:04:55.804] [ ERROR ] [ 1780] [crashdetection] Exit code 0xc0000005 indicates a fatal game exit (reason: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION)

I googled for a solution and it seems that nobody has a way around this.

Seems to happening in GTAV too.

I still have these crashes even on fresh restarts so it is not a 100% workaround. I feel stupid to restart my PC everytime just to get this one and only game to run stable as no other games have this issue.

I did a clean re-install of video game drivers and these crashes still do happen so it's 100% not a display driver related issue.

If anyone has the same error crash message and manage to resolve this, do let me know, thanks. I'm on Windows 11 Pro if that helps.
