Strauss cheats in poker
He folds everytime I get decent cards, he himself has gotten spade flush five times and keeps getting fullhouses or two pairs. That man can't be so lucky

No, he just doesn't like betting and losing if he doesn't have what he thinks is a winning hand. He's not a gambler - he's a coward and a cheap one at that.

The only meaningful games in camp:
Filet with Micah - learn to do flourishes so when you smoke him he looks like he's gonna cry.
Filet with Sadie - she might fart - don't want to miss that - winning or losing is not important.
Dominoes with Tilly - never knew how to play Dominoes before RDR2 - turns out it's a fun game.
Poker with Pearson and the gang - Pearson may give you that Compass quest, if he hasn't already.

I actually like that the game seems to me to have different sorts of players. Gives the playing a bit of personality, if you will. I think Valentine is easier that Saint Denis, for example. Some NPC talk actually support this such as when the gunsmith tells you that so-and-so in town is the worst poker player he ever saw. Even at a single table, some of the players will be better than others.

Also I define 'better' as being able to successfully bluff me, the player, and being able to counter me, the player, when I bluff. To me, that's the game's weakness overall; that I can bluff most cowardly NPCs in to folding with an all-in bet.

You now have your recipe to win three hands in a row for the challenge. Go to Valentine, bluff your butt off and watch them run. :) The timing of your bluff counts!

I like St. Denis - only because it's a better room upstairs and I can get a Prime Rib.

The Poker challenges are easy. You basically just play somewhat aggressive poker and you'll take 3 soon enough.

Of course, that's after 2 months of Game Time trying to hit a 5 card charlie and win. Anything seems easy after that.

In the game I once hit a 5 card charlie by hitting on 20 and getting the ace! Of course, under normal conditions that would be stupid, but I was playing for the challenge so why not?

The problem is, of course, is that the house gets to modify the classic rules to retain house advantage. By classic rule, 5 card charlie always wins. This is why you won't find 5 card charlies in many RL land-based casinos. At least not without modified rules as this game has. I cry foul that you can still be pushed or beaten by the dealer, but then, it's not up to me. lol

Yea... you gotta play stupid in the Blackjack Challenge.

Hit on everything - buy in is only 4 bucks.

I have, out of desperation, boredom and rage gone All In in Blackjack. I may lose, may win, but it does shake up the table either way...lol

I hate getting some small card, an ace, then another ace that miraculously comes up to 21 when what I'm seeing is 8 - and everything stops. I'd like another one Mo-Fo or would you like a bullet between the eyes?

:D

I've never shot up the casino - it really slows down a game and the point is you gotta play to win - I hate the ride to Van Horn...
