Red Dead Redemption 2 stuck on spinning revolver loading screen
Every time I open Red Dead Redemption 2, it plays through the shotgun sequence, but then goes to a black loading screen with a spinning yellow revolver in the bottom right corner. It stays on the screen forever and never changes. I have tried every solution possible and the game still won't load. I'll also add that the Rockstar Games Launcher only recognizes that I have Read Dead Online even though I have the full game. Anything helps at this point. Thank you.

The R* Launcher is not supposed to show that you have RDR2 if its from Steam. That is normal.

Try uninstalling Rockstar Social Club API + Rockstar Launcher from:
Control Panel > Programs and Features.
When finished, reboot.

Navigate to this folder:
Documents\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2

Within the sub-folder \Profiles\YourProfileID#
Delete everything inside here, except for the following:
> Files that start with SRDR300 (these are your Story Mode Saved Game Files)
> KeyMappings (this is your custom key map file, if you changed/assigned any keys/buttons)

Within the sub-folder \Settings
Delete everything inside here, except for the following:
> settings.xml

Navigate to this folder:
Steam\steamapps\common\Red Dead Redemption 2\Redistributables
Right click each of the 3 files (one at a time) and click Run As Admin to install them.
Once finished installing all 3, right click your Steam Client shortcut and click Run As Admin. Now do the same for the Rockstar Launcher. Once the launcher loads up, enter your Social Club information and tick the boxes for AUTO and REMEMBER ME. Once logged in, change the settings to ensure the launcher is NOT set to "Start with Windows". Tick the option to suspend launcher while game is running. Exit the settings.

Now switch back to your Steam window and launch RDR2.

If you have an anti-virus, either set it to Game Mode, or Pause Protection before launching a Game. If it does not have such options, then add a game client and game library to the Exclusions listing of your anti-virus suite. For example; the folder in which Steam Client is installed. If your library exists on another drive, such as D:\SteamLibrary for example, add that as well.

I have followed all of these instructions exactly, and now the game won't even start. Then I tried starting it from the RDR2.exe file and then the launcher said "this account does not own red dead online" Help...

UPDATE: It worked... finally. I turned administrator off for the launcher and the game.

Shouldn't need to do that. Just launch steam via runs admin. Then things launched from steam will launch with proper privileges

If you replaying missions for Gold and get stuck in loading screen:
1) go to Story/Load game and delete your Autosave
2) go to Save game and save it to EMPTY SLOT (don't overwrite)
3) go to Load game and load that last save

It works 100% of the time.
Contact me on Steam if you need help.

Cause it depends how you run it. If you launch Steam via Run As Admin, this will run everything afterwards already as Admin privileges such as the 3rd party launcher and games. That is not a fix though so it must be something else. Cause in order for those launchers and games to actually run properly they must be ran that way.
oh damn, any way to fix it?, i tried following your guide but it basically did nothing other than ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up my graphics setting.

That doesn't really mean anything. We're talking about THIS game.

Make sure Windows Networking is set to Private, not Public.

It helps to add Steam and Steam Library folders to Exclusions in Defender so the real time scanning is put to a stop and helps to not impact PC performance when running games.

In Defender also ensure Core Isolation and Controlled Folders is disabled.

Configure your Router or PC with a manually set DNS; such as Google, Cloudflare or OpenDNS. Where you change the address via IPV4 and IPV6
didnt work
