I don't really care that much about the cost. It's my fault for not being more careful when browsing the saddles and it was only around $70 anyway. I'll get that back quickly. The main annoyance is that in the game there's text saying that you can sell or discard but it will not let you sell. If you can't sell it back then the game shouldn't say that you can.
i've done it too , the oh no moment when you buy some crap you didnt mean to , it' only hurts for a minute
I'm just starting and don't know what to buy - so now that I have Trader and am 1 Delivery Away from the big wagon - I can get drunk and go shopping more often.
Still don't know what to buy, but it doesn't matter as much.
:D
Is it just me or is the economy in the game an absolute mess? Even in the SP game the costs are completely out of whack.
You know, I have the big delivery wagon - it takes longer to load, but the payout is nice for one distant trip. It's easy to feed Pipps with only a horse, depending where ol' Pippshot sets the camp.
Anywhere around Emerald Ranch and it's almost too easy. Stay as far away from Valentine as possible - change sessions if you have to. Right now, I'm sitting between 3 Buck Spawns and have so much free time on my hands I've located every Squirrel, Ginseng and Indian Tobacco Plant in the Area.
I just ran a random bounty mission - out of boredom watching Pippersnot churn the butter. I came back with another Buck and filled his meter again.
I considered the hunting wagon, but can now see - not only is it a PITA - it's unnecessary.
It is a grind until you get the large delivery wagon, but at the same time you get the efficiency perk - so you harvest more from 3 Star carcasses.
Load something on the back of the horse, small animals on the sides, and drag one with the lasso if you see one on the way back - and you're good to go. You can do that every 15 minutes and keep him full. I'm sat here petting the dog...lol
You absolutely want to spend first to:
Upgrade your Perk Cards
Get and upgrade some good weapons - repeater, rifle, bow, rolling block - and the navy revolver is AWESOME.
The money is so good, you can pick and choose stuff you've been wanting, but couldn't afford - like a big saddle you didn't want.
I just bought another horse - Dark Bay Andalusian. Don't get me wrong, the Blue Roan MFT is a fine horse, but that Andy is so brave he hardly snorts at snakes - if that tells you anything...
;)
Springfield or Rolling Block ASAP.
Sure, the Bolt Action is a good medium power rifle, but it's not a High Powered Rifle.
I've had Bolt Action Express Rounds bounce off Bucks, Elks and don't even think about a Moose.
I've had to dispatch many 'bleeders' to stop their suffering - and it just ruins the pelt.
The Bolt Action - is more suited to Humans.
Large Animals need a High Powered Rifle - especially while you're using 'Regular Ammo'.
Yeah, I've noticed that. The repeater you start with takes a lot of shots to drop an elk even if you hit the in the head with the first shot so as soon as I have the rank and the cash I'll be upgrading to something with a bit more power.
The deal is that Trader Animals need to be whole carcasses - and they need to be perfect in order to bring the most return. It's a grind. It's going to be more of a grind if you can't drop perfect animals.
The Bow is actually the most efficient weapon you have for Whitetail and Buck, Bighorn, Black Bear. Elk and Moose are right out until the Springfield or Block. The Improved Bow only uses less Stamina - and that may be very useful. I've maxed my Stamina Tank and it still wastes the Stamina Drain for long pulls.
Unfortunately, no Improved Arrows - so massive animals can't be taken with the Bow.
Discovered I can't put a Naconauseous on my horse. That is the ugliest thing I ever laid eyes on and my horse told me he'd leave me if we bought that. I got the Fletcher and Bell Stirrups - me and the horse are satisfied.
haha, good one! Here is your award!
