The epilogue was tacked on with super glue, so it wouldn't surprise me if something was amiss - although I don't recall any issues with the music.
You're far from wrong about the Epilogue, but the music has had this issue since Chapter 3, at the least.
Well, If/When I need to verify my game files - I simply remove the Mods I have installed as it takes about 8 seconds to drag them to a folder for safe keeping. Just like I do when I go Online.
Note:
If the installation of your Mods requires more than dragging a few files out of the game directory - YOU'RE USING THE WRONG MODS.
Then I verify my game files.
Then I would play the game without them - to see if a Mod was BREAKING MY GAME.
Then, if not, I'd drag my Mods back in place and carry on.
Good advice, classic moves, typically works and I appreciate it. I had only wished to avoid such nonsense, but seeing as the only other threads about the music being more dead than the hopes for Undead Nightmare 2 go either unnoticed, or unresolved, my options are fairly limited.
The only issue being that I do not recall most of the mods currently in use. I'll have to dig around my downloads and see where I put what.
Had I been one to care about Online, I likely would have paid more mind to the mods used for listless removal, should i need to do such a thing. But I didn't. No regrets.
The LML stuff takes care of itself. But I need to discern what didn't go in the LML folder.
I'll get around to it.
Still - identify your mod files - move them all out into a folder on the same drive as the game - not inside the Game Directory - so moving is instant - and when you've done it once, you'll always know what files don't belong to the game and do belong to the mods.
After removing the mods - play the game a little and see if the bug is present. If it's not - it's probably the mods. IF the bug is still there, verify your game files. Then play the game to see if the bug is fixed. If not, it might not be a bug, it might be a 'feature'.
;)
After you've done all you can do - reinstall the mods and learn to live with it - if you have to.
If the worst comes to pass, I may have to install one of those silly MP3 mods that comes with music from the first game and simply play it through a Trainer depending on where I am in the world - which would be terribly depressing, but that may be how it is.
I am hoping that it is an issue I have caused, but what worries me quite a bit is that my Brother has been playing this on the Xbone, and I notice he has a similar issue with only The Heartlands Ambiance playing most of the time.
The trick is creating the folder for safe keeping on the root of the drive the game is on, so when you drag from game to folder - the files are moved, not copied. Makes it a little easier, but do check they've all moved before further testing or verifying. If, for some reason, any mod file is 'read only' it won't move and you'll have to deal with that - by any means necessary.
Personal observation:
I've got 1750+hrs in this game and don't recall area specific music, background or otherwise - apart from the Spooky Roanoke Ridge Music/Background. You may be expecting a feature from RDR1 that doesn't exist in RDR2. Not sure about that one.
The reason Roanoke Ridge sticks out in my mind is:
1) The Murfrees - aren't that dangerous, but are kinda funny.
2) Chester Cheetah CAN and DOES spawn ANYWHERE along Roanoke Ridge, so that music let's me know to have a bag of Cheetos handy.
;)
This is a possibility that did cross my mind. At first I was inclined to believe it, especially since the only other Ambient Music I've heard during gameplay belongs to The Heartlands, or Roanoke Ridge, and they sometimes play over each other, or as previously mentioned, in the wrong places.
But then I noticed during the Menu Screen - you know, where you can choose to go Online, Story, or Settings, that they do have RDR 1 music for The Great Plains. Seeing as I'm doing my best to make a Father out of Marston at the moment in my current playthrough, the menu usually loads a random scenic view of The Great Plains, and before I go into Story, I am able to hear a little bit of the Great Plains soundtrack from RDR1.
It does exist, but perhaps it doesn't exist in-game? It is baffling to consider. Why would they bother keeping entire Ambient tracks around just for the Menu?
Roanoke Ridge is kinda unique. The Cougar can spawn anywhere in a triangle drawn between Van Horn, Beaver Hollow and Willard's Rest. The music will remind you of that.
