try it from rockstar's website,
login with your account and go to the store etc.
any purchase should be tied to your account,

so that might be a option, if buying ingame doesn't work.

yes, obviously it is ONLY for RDO. you cannot buy gold for story mode... you can only go treasure hunting. or in one instance in transitioning from chapter 2 to chapter 3 , a gold bar will be given to you. also the value of gold bars differ greatly from Story mode to RDO.

Make sure you have steam overlay enabled in game. But even better, don't buy gold. RDO is in a dying state, earning gold for roles is really easy and later you will simply have nothing else to buy (except pointless cosmetics ofc).

Make sure you have enough funds in your Steam Wallet. When you purchase Gold Bars in RDO even though you're making the purchase from Rockstar's in-game store the payment is actually taken from your Steam Wallet, so if you do not have enough funds in your Steam Wallet the purchase will not complete.
