Sheep turned into Rams...HOW? and why?
I see I need like eight sheep pelts to complete the trappers requirements ...figured I'd get all I need while I'm doing one, so I went back up Mt Hagen to get them...I got number six, Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep, and for whatever reason, I checked my horse cargo, I had four perfect goat hides, two perfect wolf pelts (them or me situation) and six perfect RAM hides! NO SHEEP! but I was keeping watch for another ram, I still needed ONE MORE... so I know I only killed the sheep not rams, how did they change ...what is up with this? somebody answer me please?

Yea... bighorns are all rams, but if it's Sheep you need... that's Livestock.

Not those sheep. You need sheeps that runs around on farms and stuff.

so they want me to lose a lot of honor and get into fights kill people and pay bounties? when many sheep available in the wild? that is SO misleading!

Honor is easy to get back. I killed cows, sheep, bulls, and oxes aplenty - and always end up with max honor in every playthrough.

And it's not misleading. Sheep and bighorn sheep are different creatures. :P

Just do it at Emerald Ranch at night. You will lose a tiny bit of honor, but there will be no law on you, and thus no bounty to pay.

Goats can be found by the farm close to the warped tree, close to Emerald Ranch. Kill those at night as well to avoid law and bounties.

Well, get all the russlin' out of the way early - then make it up later. Every playthrough it seems Emerald Ranch chips in at least a million on livestock 're-appropriations' and if you want that Trapper Gear - you're gonna take down a lot of livestock.

Lasso/Reel 'em in/Dispatch
Head over between 11pm and 4am.
Wear a mask, but it's pretty rare to be discovered then.

Head on up to Guthrie Farm and pick one up wearin' a weddin' band.

Honor Pro Tip:
After a night of Russlin', head back to camp with 3 complete animals of any kind and any condition (I try to get 3* animals, but it doesn't matter) either on your horse or in the bag. Donate them whole and get an honor bonus.

Head on over to the ledger and donate $20-$24. That rings a big bell.
You'll probably be right back where you started.

Remember, bow with regular arrows for goats and sheep, and improved arrows for bulls, cows, and oxes. That way you won't wake up any farmers when on your rampage. :D:

The BEST way is the Lasso Method. No extra equipment needed and no lost improved arrows.

Lasso, reel 'em in, kill, skin, out the gate
That knife works wonders.

Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep are a species of ram you bloody dolt. Not the same thing as domestic sheep. They didn't "change" magically into ram hides. They were always ram hides and you just don't have the awareness to realize that somehow after killing 5 of them, even though it tells you what you receive when you skin an animal. Plus you would see it when you're holding the hide.

For domestic sheep pelts, you need to go to the plains area of New Hanover and find groups of sheep. They are being corralled so you will have to scare off or kill the guy who owns the sheep and then you can do what you like with them. That or just go to Valentine and kill them there and piss off the whole town, I don't care.

Please for the love of god and all that is holy, do not ever say "sheeps" again.

And bring a second horse . . . twice the carcasses each trip = twice as fast to the goal ;)

It's not like improved arrows are hard to come by... they're easily crafted from regular arrows and flight feathers, which you can get from most birds.

Each to their own I guess.

Funny thing happened while I was taking a stolen Devon Ox hide to Trapper, I got to the trapper at same time as a small pack of wolves. took out my bow and proceeded to make their pelts my own. the Trapper he ran off, AS A WTNESS to disturbing the PEACE BY ME! of all the nerve! now the shop is closed and I get: "wait until morning" so I do, but it's still not open, so I get the same prompt and I again wait until morning, Now It's 8 am, and the Trapper is back.. he say's: "I'm still here, no thanks to you! " I reckon I saved the poor mans life! I sold him the perfect wolf pelts anyway, I didn't need them for anything else!
